Bought super.fi 3s first, and after the right channel crapped out after a month, I bought triple.fis. Now looking to buy HD 600s or 580s, a zero dac, probably a little dot mk III.
Mine were the triple.fis immediately followed by a headsix amp immediately followed by an ALO LOD immediately followed by the Sr-325i's. This place is pure evil. Look at my sig to see how far I'm in debt. Gotta go console my wallet, it's screaming.
I was looking for something that will sort of replace mine ER6i. Read about it, and my budget is fairly in the middle, yeah after all the research... i went for the Ultrasone Pro 750s ($430 AUD) because of the technology i suppose, love the idea of reduced listening fatigue, and im surprised that it actually is OK even on my iPod Classics etc But its fairly big certainly not for portable use which i never intended it to be.
After agonizing over the k701 vs HD650 question, I decided to get the k701's because newegg had them at a great price, and their service is killer. Turns out the k701's broke on me and I got refunded the money to go try out the HD650's. Couldn't have asked for better circumstances. Also grabbed a bijou amp kit at the same time to pair with the k701's.
Bought a pair of Westone UM2 after endless hours of comparing reviews of various IEMs here and going off initial recommendations from a friend in the live sound production industry (he uses Livewires & HD280). I absolutely love them, still playing around with the tips though. Cost me $250 new.
Also bought a cheap Go-Vibe USB DAC to get around the MBP's crappy on-board sound and am waiting for an attenuator to fix the noise issue. Hoping to get a Pico (?) amp/DAC in the future.
The BeyerDynamic DT770 pro 80 ohm.
My first post was a question about closed headphones without sibilance. Nobody gave the correct answer at the time, which is: DT150
after afew years of reading i went for the hfi-780 afew weeks back, the change from the px100 is not slight its astronomical , im astounded by the way the music is felt ,so much texture, like another dimension has been added(almost better than been there) if anything can sound better i really want to hear it
My first purchase was Etymotic ER-4P ($220) and the P->S ($60?) adapter.
Still love them and use them a lot.
My first full-size headphones were Grado SR-225 ($190?)
Still have and love them too, although I tend to use them a lot less.
I really like the bass and overall presentation.
Senns HD280. Quickly returned to the store for Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80s. One of the best investments I've ever made. I now have an iBasso D2 Boa on the way
