Hello to you the hardware specialists!!!

Usually when I'm in this forum's section something is going wrong in my life...

I have this highly sophisticated problem with an amp. It has 2 little screws missing....

I live in Canada but my research, and the fact that the amp was built in the USA, are leading me to south of the border.

Could you identify me in a «reliable» source of these parts. I insist on «reliable» because I could be forced to send one of the remainning screw for identification and I cant loose many more of these.

I'm sure you will be all touched by my personal drama.

Many thanks in advance.

PS
The screw is a tiny exagonal one like the ones you could find on a LaRocco PR....

Thanks Pars but as I wrote my research lead me to exactly what you're suggesting:

My worry is still there unless I can have a testimony about one of these guys being able to be trusted with my remaining screws....

EDIT:

Just to be perfectly clear: finding myself a source for the LaRocco screws is the only option I have left.

if you know the size of the screw you can match it up.

mcmasster-carr has a large selection of parts, they can accommodate virtually any screwing desires.

virtually any machine shop will have a screw size gauge (both metric and imperial) that will go to tinnnny sizes. if they dont have a screw of suitable size, you can order it from mcmaster-carr.

Don't have a hardware store nearby?

And you may be better served to ask in the amp section.

Hey does anybody know what size the screws are in the PR?

Please please please can we leave the touching of personal dramas out of this discussion?

There's a terrific hardware store nearby in Culver City that probably stocks the screws you need. They usually run $0.10 to $0.25 each. If you send me a photo or two of your screws and some measurements, I could get a few for you. I don't think it'd cost more than $1 to get you two screws, shipped. And I've got to make a trip over there this Saturday to pick up screws and t-nuts for a speaker project. Let me know.

The pitch of the screw is an important facet in mating with the screw hole, as is the # of threads per inch. You may not want to (ummm) screw up your PRII, mon ami.

Rather than sending one of your (precious) remaining screws, a cast of the screw can be made, and that sent.

See this passage? I did it the last time I tried to find my way to the closest hardware store in my region....

OK, OK, before I become a Rockbottom II I will try to indentify more precisely that screw (not realy.... I will send one to mcmasster-carr (thanks nikongod) with the mention «amicalement». I'm quite sure from that moment they will be under my spell...)

Seriously, I want to thank everyone (it was very nice of you Uncle Erik) who tried to help me.

Now where can I find one of these Grado wooden box....
