I wanted something different. I have semi closed (CD3000), open (Sen. 570), semi closed portable (eggos 66) and now the MD33s.
I wored the 570 on the plane, that was how stupid I was wearing my first ever headphone. Things have moved along since then.
Eggos to me are still excellent for portable use, they just don't trap enough of the sounds as in ear phones do and their bass isn't as strong. In fact, I just switched between Sharp and Eggos and the Eggos sounds like a 1 speaker radio. Its all mental I'd say (ears and mind needs time for adjustment between phones).
The Sharp is indeed a different experience for me, it will no doubt be the phones to wear when I need to hear bass that would stick, block out external noise and or listen on a plane.
Word of advice - do not try any of the display models for in-ear phones. Shops don't clean them you know

Of course if we're talking expensive headphones, you need all the different pairs your wallet will dare allow. ![]() |
