FiiOxJadeAudio KA1/KA11 Compact Portable DAC and Amplifier Discussion & Impressions Thread

I just blasted the full 200+mw of the KA11 into my 10ohm IEMs :slight_frown:

Luckily I wasn't wearing them at the time, but I hope they are not damaged.

My fault really, I plugged them into a new device for the first time and forgot to adjust the volume beforehand. Just a tip so you don't forget 👍

Could you please provide a link to that firmware version? I am also not able to find anything for the KA11 on your website.
Dear friend,

We have sent the firmware to you via PM, you could have a check.

Best regards

What sucks is that if you have the Lightning version of the KA11, it's impossible to update its firmware, so you're stuck with whatever firmware it comes with. :expressionless::thumbsdown:

KA11 is relatively stable at present. It also works well with the volume of the iphone and does not require a firmware update. If the upgrade is required, a transfer cable is required.

I've successfully upgraded the KA11 to the 0.7 firmware, but the device' s volume is now much much lower, I get some barely decent volume only at maximum output. There is clearly something wrong with this firmware.
I would ask Fiio to provide the old one, so we can at least use the full volume range.
And it would be best to put it on their website, what if someone buys the device and he's not on headfi?

Ok I've just opened the Fiio control app and I've noticed that they 've added a sort of volume limiter function. I've sei it at maximum and the full range of volume is back.
Still, it would be better having everything on Fiio's website, maybe with a note explaining the new functions or changes of the firmware version.

Indeed with firmware 0.7 a new slider appeared in the audio settings of the control app. My KA11 was also set to device volume 26 (of 50 max) after the firmware update. Not sure why that is set this way. Otherwise the firmware works as expected; i.e. the KA11 is now visible as USB-audio-device even if no headphone-cable is inserted.

Edit:
to be clear; the KA11 device volume is independent from the software volume setting from your host device (phone, PC, ...)... but you can only change it in the control app.

0.7 firmware, you can turn up the volume in the FIIO CONTROL APP.

There are still minor issues with this firmware, so we haven't released it publicly.
