Most traditional balanced desktop audio equipment utilizes the XLR 4-pin connector, while some newer audiophile equipment employs the 4.4mm balanced connector, which leads to incompatibility between new and old equipment. Here, the LX-4.4MM is designed to help solve this problem.

Not sure if this is the same one that's included with the FT3 headphone, but on that one the XLR side feels mushy when you push it into a socket and doesn't click in. It's easy to pull out and wobbles around on all 3 of the amplifiers I plugged it into. The 4.4mm connection feels very solid though. I would recommend it still at this price, but don't expect it to click and lock in place like a Neutrik.
It can be hard to find adapters that don't have a cable in the middle, so it's good to see one from a reliable company made available.

Oh no, that's a shame if so.
I'm going to order one so I should be able to verify that claim.
Will be a real shame if it transpires the fit is poor compared to Neutrik.
Neutrik XLR's are 'the daddy' in terms of build quality imo.

Wish they use higher grade connectors to maximize signal transfer. Still a great deal for the price.

different companies... Fiio and ifi are not the same companies.... the S stands for single ended...
Yes, I am sorry for my confusion about the companies. Concerning the "S," I recommend reading the white paper in my original post for the whole story. The S-balanced set up can be used with TRS and TRRS connectors, which is unusual.

Good idea. Just ordered one. I have one for 2.5 mm from DROP. It's always handy to have an adapter like this that I can just leave on my amp. Makes it easier to plug in headphone cables.

I looked into the " S " balanced when they first announced it... they made it sound like it was a balanced design, but its not... but it does sound good so no worries...
