Naughty reihead :deadhorse: Do you know how to uninstall google play services? I don't

Go to settings --> apps
It should be there under the Downloaded tabs, if not check the All tab

Sorry, I mean google services framework. That doesn't appear anywhere for me

Ok, so no Google Play - but we can install anything? Sounds like a Wild West approach to me

What are safe sites to download clean .apk files from?

Trial and error mate, but if you go by links provided in the Android-based forum, they're normally safe

So you need to do a bit of Googling around

A poll on whether to continue whitelisting and blacklisting Android apps has been added to the OP. Voice your opinion on the whitelisting policy of the X7 now!

Abit late here. Personally, I a whitelist should be good. Perhaps as someone mentioned some pages ago, Fiio should have a directory of Apps that are allowed to be installed on the X7.

I don't think having the play stall will be a good idea, based on the specs of the processor etc. Having play stall and google services installed may cause unexpected issues too. To be frank, its specs of RK3188 with 1GB of RAM ain't fantastic, so having a whitelist will ensure that apps that are whitelisted are at least "optimised" for the X7. This will result in fewer complains about poor performance too.

Just my 2cents!

I strongly suggest Google Play support for X7. There are some paid audio apps that I own (such as USB Audio Player Pro, Neutron, Tunein Radio Pro) and if sideloading is the only way to get apps on the X7, it would not be possible for those paid apps, which require licensing from Google Play, to work.

Speaking of which, can anyone check if the trial version of USB Audio Player Pro works with the X7? It'll be great if it works and the X7 could have USB Audio out!

Couldn't agree more.

Google play services support is a must.

I understand that in China is a different story...

Being able to use USB Audio Player Pro, with USB Audio Out, would be great. Then the X7 could work as a music transport for non-portable uses, connected to TOTL audio equipment. (I am increasingly convinced that a USB connection from a typical PC working as a music server can have lot of compromising issues, and so cutting the PC out of the loop seems an attractive option.)

I created a few feature-focused threads in our group's forum. Please check them out and give Fiio some feedback.

What group? Didn't get the invite!? :confused_face_2:

Cool kids only XD :gs1000smile:

Haha! Well, seeing as it was my suggestion in the group PM and Joe showed my user name at the top of his mega tab invite pic I'm guessing that it slipped through the cracks.

Joe Bloggs?

Just check "thread started" by nmatheis on his profile page. I guess this is what he's referencing to.

Haha. Don't worry about it guys. The group is invite only to post. I've read it, just if I have feedback I need the invite to post. It'll be sorted. :)
