Only owned Opus#1 and Opus#1 Metal for a while. Was only having the JH Layla 2 then, and not the best pairing, as fatigue comes after short listening time.

Using my Layla 2 with X7II, sounds much smoother, but Oriolus Mk2 is a even better match with X7II.

How does this compare to opus #3.?

I had an original X7 with AM3 and I wouldn't call it "musical". Sounded very cold and analytical to me which doesn't mean bad, just not to my liking... From what I know from this thread MkII with AM3A should sound more lively.
