As far as I've read in this forum, you're confortable with the AM5 amp module.

I did try with AM3 (SE) on a Audeze Planar Magnetic (LCD-2 I think) and it still worked, had to push to full volume and high gain but that is a very power angry headphone, some desktop amps struggle to drive them

Oh, so alone it cant drive them?
I will get the x7 +am5 then

X7 doesn't output music alone, the lowest power module is AM1, which is somewhat an IEM module.

AM5 is the high power amp, has Muses02 OP-AMPs, if you use HD650 - you should like the combination. Many people are really into Muses02 sound.

There is also an AM3 module that is balanced out there - but AM5 should be stronger. I like AM3 best for example.

How does the Muses02 sound?

  How does the Muses02 sound?

Slightly warm, clear, vivid, good separation between instruments, soundstage has good depth. To my ears, it has an organic / relaxed / natural sound. It compliments HD650 I would say.

It sounds lush I think (?)

I generally would want an energetic - neutral or even bright signature but I have ie800 which is bright by default - this is my taste in music. If you love HD650 with it's signature - you should like Muses02 as it enhances that signature.

The X7 currently doesn't support Xposed, so I used what I could! Hope you appreciate!

thanks for trying to help

But it did not work, yes you get root, yes you get v4a installed and its driver, but simply the driver states there is no processing when using for example neutron or poweramp

i think v4a is not yet supported on betas

I haven't tried the AM5, but the AM3 balanced is decent with the HD 650.

  i have both am3 and am5
the am5 is warmer and more powerful

Agree on the warmer :)

AM5 definitely sits above AM3 single-ended, but in balanced mode the AM3 is the more powerful output into harder to drive loads

AM3 SE => 7 Vp-p, 80mA peak output, 190 mW into 32 ohm, 5 mW into 300 ohm
AM5 => 11 Vp-p, 250mA peak output, 500 mW into 32 ohm, 55 mW into 300 ohm
AM3 Bal => 11 Vp-p, 160mA peak output, 540 mW into 32 ohm, 70 mW into 300 ohm

Updated to latest beta but album art in several folders still don't appear. How do I send to Fiio the jpeg?

Sent from Nokia 3210

Dear egzbuen,

You can send the album arts to support@fiio.net. Thank you!

Best regards

Maybe just a coincidence but as @egzbuen referred "jpeg" ... Cover art on a "Cover.jpeg" doesn't show, only if its renamed to "Cover.jpg", that's the fix.

My 2 cents

I would generally use png format - it's cleaner and lossless. But this is just the heart of someone concerned by image processing in general - png takes more space. In the age of 200GB microSD cards I don't really care as much about space as I care about quality tho...

Agree. However if target is X7 display you can't spot the difference of JPG compression artifacts, unless you use very high compression when saving (Photoshop 8 and above is OK). For a 800 x 800 pixel image, it varies with image content (higher or lower frequency images, even areas noise, etc) a good quality not very compressed image should stay in between 120 and  200 Kbytes
