Line out is unsuitable for high impedance headphones (which are usually large over ear units with relatively low power efficiency) because it has very little power output and unsuitable for high efficiency IEMs (which are usually of very low impedance) because the line out has a high output impedance that skews the sound of IEMs, especially BA IEMs / multi-driver IEMs.

The only thing I MIGHT think of plugging into a variable line out is a pair of dynamic driver IEMs with a flat-as-a-floor impedance response curve.

What about easier to drive planar magnetic headphones, which seem have that flat impedance curve? Just curious.

Not to be a buzzkill but you'll never really appreciate the HD-800 unless you own or intend to buy a very good amplifier. You can still use the X7 as your source and DAC.

Is Mojo capable for driving HD800 to a reasonable level? Desktop amps are clearly not suitable for my small office desk...

I was thinking the Gracedesign M920 makes a nice pairing.

I got my balanced silver cables for my HD 650 from Headphone Lounge. Even the silver cables are cheaper than the Moon Audio cables.

  With 2.5mm TRRS balanced cable for Sennheiser HD800, the AM3 (> 70 mW - 300 Ohms / 1 kHz) is better AMP than AM5 (> 55 MW - 300 Ohms / 1 kHz) for HD 800 (300 Ohms).

Curious if anyone has actually tried the HD800 or HD800s balanced on the AM3?  Wonder how good it sounds on AM3

I don't think anybody is going to be able to tell the difference in a blind test. Neither are really that high powered amps in reality. Any decent desktop headphone amplifier is going to be outputting > 200 MW @ 300 Ohms / 1 kHz. These are both portable amps that have slightly more power than the AM1s but that's just slightly more headroom we are talking about, not exactly an epic increase in output.

Hi guys,

Just to confirm, its possible for X7 to play via BT to speakers, streaming from a Mac using wifi  DLNA, right?
Someone is asking me and I don't own a Mac.

Regards

I'm sure in 900+ pages of post this has been requested but I will add my voice:

It would be great if we could sort songs and especially albums by the date added.

Thanks!
