Maybe you need to rescan the database to update it?

Two technical questions.

In the DXD definition in Wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_eXtreme_Definition the last paragraph tells: "Today, DXD is also used as a music distribution format in some HD web stores, due to its great pulse response without the significant noise characterizing DSD."

¿Can someone explain me that significant noise characterizing DSD and how does affects sound quality or sound reproduction?

The second question is that Astell & Kern hesitates about a Femto Clock VCXO. Has the Fiio X7 a Femto Clock? How does X7 control voltage like the Femto Clock VCXO does?

Thanks for all.

@FiiO

I  note from the screenshot which #James posted recently, that the screen now shows the time remaining of a track, as well as the time elapsed.
I hope that this is going to be a feature in the new firmware when it is released?  It is long overdue.

Is is also possible to disable the irritating feature of the tracks volume from starting quietly and then increasing on its own after ten seconds.
I understand that the feature was requested by another user.  I find it very annoying and I don't see why it should be inflicted on the rest of us
who are quite capable of setting the volume before the track starts playing.

It would also be nice if a better equaliser could be selected to play with the FiiO Music app.  Is this possible?

Gapless also requires attention, it does not work as well as it did on previous firmwares

Many thanks

magicalmouse,

 What kind of SD card are you using? Does the problem happen every time you change the card?

  @FiiO

i bent a 2.5mm jack today...and in doing so, i cracked the black plastic part of the 2.5mm female jack

the balanced out still works, but is there a problem having this cracked female jack in the long run?

Karliol, sorry, missed your questions before , could you kindly take the picture of your AM3 in details for reference.

It is a bug ,and we will fix it in our new firmware in the future.

For other questions you suggested ,we will take it into consideration.

Thanks,

Fiio,

Any update on the AV sync issue while playing video on the X7? I have quite a few music videos that I like watching but the problem is preventing me to. Enjoy the X7 otherwise. Please fix this for me .

Khragon ,we will fix it into our next new Firmware, please kindly wait.

Hi guys does anyone else have noise issues with am1 and am3 and Shure se846 iem's ?

With the fiio balanced cable and am3 module there is so much hiss on the se846 it's very unpleasant.

The same iem on the chord mojo on the same tracks are dead silent.

The same iem when the fiio x7 is docked with the k5 and powered by it is dead silent.

making me think it's the amp section on the fiio x7 that is producing this hiss. The K5 dock has more power than the am1 and am3 but makes no hiss when the fiio x7 is docked and the se846 is connected to it.

Hi, it happens whenever i change cards, i am using a 128gb and 64gb cards from KIngston and Sandisk.

I cannot rescan as the fiio player (music mode) does not activate as it cannot find the music on the card and i do not understand the comment earlier that i should set the x7 to automatically update as it does not appear in any menu i have found (unlike the x5 where it is a menu item)

tha only solution i have found is to reset to factory otherwise the player just sits there without doing anything

thanks

  Bass boosting via EQ (V4A) on the X7 is a stronger boost than the "bass" switch on the E12, E12A or E18.

 On the bass head threads guys use EQ AND the switch..........and it's not necessarily the *amount* of bass, it's also the ease and convenience of just hitting a switch to boost your bass rather than going into settings of multiple apps-for me switching between a lot of different headphones I can go from a pair of Oppo PM-1's to Ether C with just a flick of the switch.

You have the noise issue also with AM1? some people referred problems with AM3 but those were EMI (like interference from smartphones) and not "hiss". But if you have hiss on AM1 that is more strange, maybe X7 is the source of the problem? Did you have latest FW and did you make a factory reset?

My 2 cents
