I do wish that FIiO really can improve SQ with firmware update for existing IEM amp module, since some of us use only IEMs/CIEMs with DAPs or FIiO will sell a better IEM amp module in the future and this future won't be close to X7 2th gen release date.

I'm not tested it myself yet. Just some of my thoughts judging by available first impression/review here

FiiO already improved SQ with the latest FW1.1.  I was the first one with a critical judgment a month ago when received X7 and shared my first impression.  4 firmware updates later, sound quality went up noticeably with 1.1, and I can honestly say that FiiO finally crossed summit-fi DAP threshold.  I hope to have my review done by the end of the week...

That sounds great,I feel like a kid at christmas waiting for it to arrive, now if they just sort out the folder browsing thing, I guess being android though there are plenty of workarounds.

What will the initial USD sales price be? 
When is the initial US distributor sales date as I can't find in on Amazon?
 
Is there a quick summary of the features/benefits/specs of the X7 compared to the X5ii.  Trying to figure out the user case on which product that would best suit my needs.

Yeah I've decided to go with the X7...too many unknowns with the Onkyo for me.

So much music waiting to unleash it's true potential, all in less than a month.

  Wonder if Fiio is planning on a "Null Amp for Desktop" module .... no amp included, just digital connectors for use with a desktop system .... regular USB, digital coax, and optical.

The X7 already has a LINE/COAX OUT port, and on each amp module there is also a USB port. So I think it's unnecessary to make a 'Null Amp' module.
