Is it normal to hear so much hiss coming from AM3A balanced output? Just got X7 today and testing but there are so much hiss from tie amp... 3.5mm has a lot less but still can hear hiss but not as much as 2.5mm balanced output... gain control doesnt seem to change amount of hiss..

Thanks.

Hello,

I run (at three living/working locations) three different sets of X7 + AM3A. All balanced. No hiss in any set.
Guess there is something wrong in your set. Most likely in your AM3A.

I hear the same hiss. Thought at first that it was the wifi interfering but its still there when turned off.

I always use pure music mode. Maybe that is the difference. Have you tried that?

Ok the noise is coming when WiFi is turned on. No noise once WiFi is turned off. Big disappointment if it is how it is designed... When WiFi is turned on I am getting hiss/popping noise....

Found below from Fiio website and have since got a refund, just can't trust the QC after this mishap. The noise level was coming out even in line-out mode which is affecting enjoyment of listening music.

i wonder if my unit is suffering from this too. @FiiO is there repair required on the PCB, or can the wifi/bluetooth pcb simply be replaced? also do you carry replacement screens? mine has delaminated quite a bit.

Hello, I have emailed about the following three things:

First issue: The screen seems to be delaminating, there are weird stripes and small air bubbles in the screen. this is not in the screenprotector!

The LCD itself is working. the touchscreen is also working.

second issue: the wifi can cause a bit of interference, and the signal doesn't always seem to be very good. but I don't know if this is part of the hardware issue, or normal.

third issue: is there a full firmware package for fw3.3.9? I can only find the OTA package http://x7pack.fiio.net/3.3.8/X7-ota-3.3.9.zip but I want to do a complete new installation.

Has anyone used Hd58x with X7? Which anp will be sufficient for these cans? Also kindly mention if the UI of X7 is too slow to play tidal, Spotify etc? I wana buy this one, as its in my budget.
Regards
Dear friend,

You may check whether the AM3A or Am5 could meet your need. The X7 has stopped production now and you may need to buy a second hand one instead.

Best regards

I've got the chance to buy an X7 without an amp module quite cheaply and would use it for trips away and the beach.

Is it still a worthwhile purchase? The unit in question is in mint condition and boxed.
