Looks like alsa doesn't get timing informations from the usb device when a stream is running.

Yes, it sounds completly new. And much better then before.
The firmeware FW2.5 is an impressive step for High-End enthusiasts. Therefor a big thank you to the FiiO developer team.
I'm glad about purchasing the right product. And with this wonderful sound quality I can now better wait to the next step. The FiiO X7.

Refering to the X-FAT upgrade, does X-FAT store data on the card more effitiand than FAT32.  On Windows, every upgrade to FAT meant information was stored in smaller allocations waisting less space. 
My cards are getting full.  Would X-FAT help in storage room?

@Brooko I think that it will only accept the device that is plugged in while installing it, so this is not great for people, like you, who have both. On the other hand, i think that you use one of the two players more as a DAC, but Fiio should still look into this, for people that have something like a portable only setup, laptop +x3, and at home they use laptop+x5...

I do get the feeling that SQ has improoved a little on the new FW. After listening for so much time with e12a, i think that i had forgotten how great x5 already was!

I found bug.

When I insert my earphone into x5 and turn it on, x5 freezes and so I cannot do anything.

So, I press switch on the top for turning it off.

After that, I turn it on without inserting earphone and I could play music.

I will confirm it always happens or not.
