Hey Joe,

A bug to report, not related to playlist.

A song, correctly tagged, with special characters (Spanish ascent), on the browse by library list displays fine, but that's not the case on the playing screen. See attached photos. The only problem is that the title isn't displayed properly. Song plays properly, no lag, no skips.

Cheers

Are the albums that play out of order in artist / album mode multi-disc albums by any chance?

If it would help find the problem, I could obtain a 2nd 32GB microSD card and send you via mail a copy of the disk encountering the track ordering problems.

Hello,

If you have or could create a dropbox account, you could upload a problematic album to my dropbox bug submission folder which I will share with you.

That or just upload to a random file sharing service with password for me to download for debug purposes only.

:)

OK, I have created a dropbox account.  I have tested that just having this one album on an otherwise blank TF card  and building the library under 2.07 beta reproduces the problem.
The album is History; America's Greatest Hits I use folder Structure TF1:\Music\America\Albumname
Let me know how I get this to you.

I was wondering if my randomly-disconnecting-X5-drives problem is something I need to worry about:

It could be my unit (In which case I need to know what to do)
It could be the firmware (in which case a bug needs to be filed)

Any suggestions?

Could be the cable too.

Sadly i don't have a mac to test this.
I think it's best if you try with fw 2.0, see if it persists.

I'm on a Mac also and I noticed this when loading my library when I first got the X5, onto which I loaded fw 2.07b right away. It could be a setting in Preferences>Energy put hard disks to sleep when possible (or not!). I didn't take any pains to diagnose it at the time, although I can say it was 30 minutes or more of loading files, without touching the device before it would drop. It did seem to be the X5 trying to shut down due to inactivity and it did seem to be just one card that would drop. I spent most of a day loading music so it was a lot of time in USB mode. Due to the dismal write speed from inside the X5, I gave up trying and used the SD adapter to finish loading the cards directly from my laptop, which is about twice as fast but still painfully slow for the 150GB I loaded.

I consider this a minor bug and I'm not worrying about it because now that the majority of my library is loaded, I only use the USB cable for loading new purchases or for charging.

On my Mac I find that if I try to access both cards at the same time it usually craps out. I've learned to transfer files to one card, then eject, then access the other card. Haven't had an issue since. This has been on all FW versions including the last official 2.0.

Joe Bloggs,

How can we help troubleshoot the USB Mac connection problems?

I thinks it's a Mac issue trying to see 2 mounted drives through 1 USB connection. If I'm wrong I'll gladly take a fix from Fiio.

Shouldn't be a problem, as you can connect 126 devices on a single USB port. I don't know how the OS is handling this on a mac though.

Yeah, I know it's unexpected, but there it is. I'm sure it's not a USB spec issue but an issue with the way the Mac is seeing the cards. The Mac mounts both cards but when I browse them both at the same time they are ejected automatically.

Running Mavericks on a recent MacBook Pro. Like I said earlier, it could be an OSX issue or a Fiio issue but I can work around it easily by simply browsing one card at a time.
