been a while away from this Thread,,, I like it when the discussion is back..

Anyway, I am a happy X5iii user. Spotify and UAPP only, UI a bit delay but still compromise for me.
usually stack with E12a, because is a good pairing in my ear. This stack has been my accompany daily on Weekday when I am driving until now. Never use Car Audio again, is just not appealing to my ear appetite anymore.

Yes, Streaming Spotify is a hic up, just download it, and listen offline... it will also reduce the WIfi noise
Yes, It generates Noise background with current IEM I have, stack it, use Impedance adaptor, or listen to UAPP instead, it really tame that HISS...

I am a simpleton guy, use stock FW 1.2.1. just like old saying " never fixed something that ain't broken" In my conditions...

Dear friend,

No, this function is not supported by the X5III.

Best regards

Yeah, I've read a few reviews on the Tidal Android page today on Google play that folks are having the same issue and one of them mentioned FiiO X7.

The descriptors were were, white noise, static, fuzzy, etc. Obviously there's a problem with at least some X7 and X5, although it appears most smart phones and other stock Android aren't having an issue. Again I ponder, is it the low Android OS or other software/hardware commonalities between the X5 and X7 that may be the incompatibility? If Tidal gets enough complaints maybe they'll be able to offer an update that fixes it.
Dear friend,
We are also contacting Tidal about that. Will try to solve the issue with Tidal together.

Best regards

What would a morning on metro north be without FiiO music crashing in the middle of the wonderful 24bit/96hz recording of Phish's 2018 New Years Run. Prior to this my wonderful player was even giving me gapless love.

I'm sure these players work seamlessly for some, but mine is a part time lover. We didn't sign up to be Beta testers, not at full price thats for sure.

When you have the deadheads and hippies throwing mud your way, you got issues, as we know what it truly is to be a kind FRIEND.

Great to see see FiiO chiming in here with some substance, lol. Really?

I am having the same problem with Tidal... both MQA and non MQA files will not play on my X5 3rd now without massive distortion. The FiiO music app plays fine. I am running the latest firmware as of today.

FIXED

Yes they did... MQA sounds great on the X5 3rd. I know it is only one fold but but still great sounding to me. I don't want to start an MQA debate here please.

Hmm:
"The FiiO Link will initially be available on the FiiO M6 with the company committing that the functionality will be available to the FiiO M7, M9, X5III, X7 and X7 Mark II via a firmware upgrade at a later time."

Curious indeed. Haven't tried it on the x5iii but Hiby Link works well on my other daps.
