If Fiio fixed the third party apps not playing at native 192 files then I hope they add that to x5 iii firmware as it was promised on launch but failed to deliver.
Then they come up with excuses saying Dev of the app needs to fix.

Fiio mentioned they are discussing with developers of tidal to work on a solution on x7ii in the other threads.

We will see how it goes I guess.
Dont know about rest of apps.

Im not talking about Tidal.
Im talking about playback of 24/192 flac files in other players as this was a "feature" advertised by Fiio saying they bypassed Android limitation.

Sorry you wont get it.

The fiio dev already responded that some apps come with the SRC included in those apps. They either have to work with the devs and gather support.

My point was is that ALL THIRD PARTY apps that suffer with src limitation will have to be done by both parties.

By the way, just like to ask here. Is there any sound improvements after many firmware updates? I have tested twice early this year but still on the fence about whether to buy X5iii or XDP-300r. Didn't really try the Viper effect that time; just some flac songs.

I haven't noticed any change in sound due t upgrades in firmware. That might be because I have 50 year old ears or perhaps because my equipment can't reveal the changes (Senheisser Momentum and Senheisser Momentum In Ear)

Changing the topic slightly -

For those wishing for an "Artist Sort" option. The Foobar 2000 app does have this option as well as being able to use multiple genre tags. From what I can tell neither the Neutron or the Onkyo apps have this capability. The downside is of using Foobar is that your not using the FIIO app and thus can't use the Pure Music Mode.

I have both USB and coaxial cables and did not experience any skipping. Actually I use the Mojo with x3ii using coaxial cable and there was no skipping either.

As I said a few days ago, the USB connection works for the Fiio music app but minor noise does appear occasionally. And for some unknown reasons, the music was resampled and the cable does not support DSD files altogether.

On the other hand, the line-out using coaxial cable to Mojo works perfectly (only the cable is too long for carrying around).

What is strange to me is that no one else seems to have this problem, yet when I contacted Chord they said it is normal for the mojo to mute the first seconds of a track when the sample rate changes to avoid "an audible pop."

Some of the spacialisation effect are pretty cool. I use it if I have an earphone with a narrow stage, and want to widen it a little more.

The Fire equalizer is much more pleasant to use than the stock EQ, just as an example. Parametric EQ wins versus graphical EQ.
And some of the effect are actually useful to soundstage, as Brooko mentioned.

It's not like FiiO paid for the whole Viper effects and we have to support the charge, only 4 of them are actually free of charge on the X5-iii.
It's like a freebee.

I have an issue with greek characters on cue sheets and with alphabetical order on fiio music player ,i asked them to solve it and the answer was "NO we can't".
The first issue was also on neutron player ,i asked Dmitry (neutron developer) to solve it and he solved it immediately .This is what i call technical support .
I am very disappointed with Fiio's support.
