I have only Flac files on my X5 III, as it was already with X5 I. But never noticed this with X5 I...Seems it works fine with FLAC and OGG files for me. MP3s always have that crack sound, but only when there's actual silence between tracks - on live recordings it's fine.

Sadly, no luck. This thing is officially bricked.
I sent another message to Fiio support, calling for some warranty maintenance or replacement. At this point though, I'd rather switch to another DAP. Is there anything out there with 2xSD card slots and internal storage that isn't a piece of junk?
While I love my X5iii the competition is heating up

Awww man @peter1480 Wish that was the Onkyo one and you tried Balanced line-out mode into your Mjolnir 2. Would love 1st hand feedback.

I tried the Onkyo and prefered the Pioneer sound sig but this is off topic here. I'll try the balanced out into Mjolnir 2 when I'm at home at the weekend, I was n't impressed with the x5iii that way. I needed using as a transport via my Gungnir. Back on topicAwww man @peter1480 Wish that was the Onkyo one and you tried Balanced line-out mode into your Mjolnir 2. Would love 1st hand feedback.

I'm sure it's been discussed already, but offline Tidal files seem to randomly skip as the album progresses. It's not every album, and it's only 3 or 4 songs in that this behavior is exhibited. The player doesn't indicate it is running out of RAM, and once the song is started over runs fine. More of an annoyance than anything, but I've never encountered this issue on other players.

I have never been able to get my 256mb Samsung (different brand) to work in the fiio properly, in either slot. Formatted in Windows and or in the device
I went with two 200GB cards and all things are fine now.
Some others have been successful with the 256mb cards (sure they will chime in).
Thanks for the reply. I really don't understand why this is happening, extremely annoying. What's the available space after installing the 200GB card to the device?

This is what I'm running, no issues.
Ultras and Evos are the key, they are fast enough 10000+ files, 2 for these in mine never had a problem.

Yes please this is the only reason why I don't use Fiio Music. Been a lastfm scrobbler since 2007, no way I'm stopping nowI also have a small request for @FiiO , can you, if possible, add Last.fm scrobbling to Fiio Music please?
Dear friend,Can somebody help me please?
I have this player and I've recently purchased a 256GB Sandisk Micro SD card and after putting a considerable amount of music on the card the player freezes up when i fire up the music player. The app also force closes and says it's not responding. I have performed an internal factory reset, i have tried loading the tracks time and time again, not only on the stock music player but also Poweramp that i purchased from the store and still it hasn't sorted anything out. I switched to music mode only and that didn't sort the problem. The tracks did seem to load at one point but the whole thing became unusable because of how slow it was responding. When i played a track at this point it was displaying the track name of another track that i know is on the card. The latest firmware is installed. I guess my only option is to delete all files on the card and try again? This would be the last thing i try, as i have tried avoiding it because of how long it took for the files to transfer to the card.
Sorry to hear that. What's the file system of the TF card you use? Maybe you can try to format it to FAT32 first. Are there any other TF cards in your hand? Would the same issue happen as well?
Best Regards

Are the files changing sample rate? There is a known 'feature' were sample rate changes and in order to change to the other clock rate chip the DACs have to be reset which can cause a small crack or pop (typically more on one channel then the other).I have only Flac files on my X5 III, as it was already with X5 I. But never noticed this with X5 I...
Dear friend,Hello
Another question : I have the latest firmware installed, my music is on 2 micro sd cards (128 and 64 gb, both Sandisk).
I can hear a light crackling each time I start playing, or when changing tracks. I don't remember this with X5 1rst gen...
What can it be ? Did someone notice the same phenomenon (don't know if I should call it "issue") ?
Did someone else experience - and solve - this ?
About the slight crackle that occurs occasionally during playback
It is one of the HiFi audio players' core features to support different types of music formats and sampling rates. And each time when the DAC chip change the sampling rates, it will need to reset itself, which can cause a slight crackle in the sound. This problem cannot be totally prevented, unless converting all the songs to the same format and sampling rates before playing them (just like what the Apple iTunes will do). But doing this will make the HiFi player lose its biggest advantage.
Best regards

Hi, i am not really sure, i just know it's a Sandisk Ultra 256GB card. Sorry. I have tried the card in my Samsung Galaxy S7 and it worked ok. I could format the card like you said and hopefully it will work. The folder i put on the card consisted of 320kbps and a mixture of FLAC and WAV. I will try a different folder and reset the card and report back.
