i regret selling my first gen x5. loved that thing!

i think i'm going to go a bit nuts and pick up the astell & kern kann- at this rate, i'd rather pay good money for something that works extremely well AND has a massive amount of storage capability. i still want to get this repaired under warranty so i can at least sell it or gift it to make some of the money back. otherwise, $400 paperweight. bought in april, dead in july. never worked well from day 1 and lost all hope to return it outside of Fiio's unresponsive support team :frowning2:.
I dunno about the Kann fully. I do know that full Big SD card support is almost non-existant in the DAP world. That is impressive to allow that storage alongside with a microSD card.

tbh, I would rather choose Questyle QP1R over Kann design wise. But I'm sure they both sound good enough at a point where it's just sonic preferences and both are amazing at quality and detail.

I also have a small request for @FiiO , can you, if possible, add Last.fm scrobbling to Fiio Music please?

the latest in a series of major issues with my Fiio player- the player does not turn on. When plugging in USB to charge, it boots up to charge and then turns off. I was able to turn the player on once, and received an "Android is Optimizing Apps" message before dying again. This may be a battery issue, but I've been trying to charge it for a bit now, and no luck. I worry the battery may have died and won't retain a charge.

@FiiO -- any suggestions? I tried contacting your direct email support for a warranty replacement but have not received a response in over a month. This is beyond upsetting.
Dear friend,

As we have communicated via PM in the head-fi with more detailed information, so we didn't reply you via email in order to avoid confusion.

Will the blue LED light up after trying to turn on the X5III? Please try to change another usb cables and charger like the computer for charging to see whether it helps?
Please try to hold the power button for about 15s to see what would happen? When trying to charge in power off, will the white battery icon appear? Pretty sorry for bringing inconvenience to you.

Best regards

Hello
Another question : I have the latest firmware installed, my music is on 2 micro sd cards (128 and 64 gb, both Sandisk).
I can hear a light crackling each time I start playing, or when changing tracks. I don't remember this with X5 1rst gen...
What can it be ? Did someone notice the same phenomenon (don't know if I should call it "issue") ?
I hear the same - especially on Neutron player. Didn't find any solution for that.
Did someone else experience - and solve - this ?

Seems it works fine with FLAC and OGG files for me. MP3s always have that crack sound, but only when there's actual silence between tracks - on live recordings it's fine.

Can somebody help me please?

I have this player and I've recently purchased a 256GB Sandisk Micro SD card and after putting a considerable amount of music on the card the player freezes up when i fire up the music player. The app also force closes and says it's not responding. I have performed an internal factory reset, i have tried loading the tracks time and time again, not only on the stock music player but also Poweramp that i purchased from the store and still it hasn't sorted anything out. I switched to music mode only and that didn't sort the problem. The tracks did seem to load at one point but the whole thing became unusable because of how slow it was responding. When i played a track at this point it was displaying the track name of another track that i know is on the card. The latest firmware is installed. I guess my only option is to delete all files on the card and try again? This would be the last thing i try, as i have tried avoiding it because of how long it took for the files to transfer to the card. :frowning2:

I have never been able to get my 256mb Samsung (different brand) to work in the fiio properly, in either slot. Formatted in Windows and or in the device
I went with two 200GB cards and all things are fine now.

Some others have been successful with the 256mb cards (sure they will chime in).
