I am in Japan and have fiber optic and crazy wifi speed too and am right next to the router and my update to 1.1.1 timed out at least 50 times and I wanted to throw it out a window and then go look for it so I could stomp on it more.

I was very pissed. I downloaded the last update from dropbox and just dragged and dropped. They are not equipped on their end for the demand that comes right after a new release of F.W. I'm thinking this is selling a lot more than the X7 at any point in that devices cycle and they need to consider more bandwidth for the O.T.A

Upgraded to FW 1.1.2 last night.  Took over an hour to DL OTA, so I put my phone into airplane mode (no cellular connection, thus forcing it thru my in-home wifi) and ran Speedtest ... and pulled down test speeds of over 24MB/s.  So the slow OTA update was not due to my home wifi. <shrug>

Dear All , for the OTA , we will improve it within 1-2 months.

Well I, I actually tend to like FiiO, used to own some of their products and was very pleased...but this presumed firmware beta test is still rather poor...

Every single droid based DAP over the last 2 years has run into multiple issues.

It is an excellent piece of kit. I can forgive the cycle of de-facto beta tester since it is the only way to do it unless you hold back a device until perfect and then the competition is already with you or passing you. It is what it is. Firmware updates are always welcome. The more the merrier but sometimes they create their own issues ala Apple,Microsoft, etc etc.

If that is the reason you hesitate take pause in getting a droid based, IOS, microsoft device period.

I'm having trouble in creating a playlist. I've tried using this method http://fiio.me/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=41783 to create a playlist but when I create the playlist and move to the X5 the playlist won't play, it shows up but it it has Chinese characters. Am I doing something wrong? Another problem I am having is with using the RM1 remote when using the neutron music player, when I push play on the RM1 the song fast forwards, the volume controls don't work, and the skip buttons just pause the song. Do I have the to configure something in neutron? I also notice this problem when using the play and pause buttons on the left side of the x5. Anyway to fix this problem?

1. For the Playlist, could you kindly send it for us to check it ?

2.  Does the physical buttons can control the Neutron Music Player well ?

Fiio, please add "skip to next folder/album" button and "shuffle by folder/album" option.

pietro77,

You can find the "Play through folder" on the setting of the FiiO Music App. for the Album , we will report it to our software department.

Thanks, but it works only when last track in the folders finished. It will be nice to have button like that when I want skip to next album after listening first track in the folder for example. Poweramp for example have that functionality.

I just received my X5-III today, and have been trying to play music from my DLNA server.  I use Serviio on a Windows 10 PC, and it works flawlessly with all my other DLNA clients.  For some reason, the X5-III will only display the MP3 files in my shared music library, and completely ignores all of the FLAC files.  Is this a known issue or limitation?  Has anyone else been able to access FLAC files from a DLNA server on the X5-III?

Can we have a switch for embedded album art and in-folder album art?
Like show in-folder album art first before embedded and vice versa?
Few of my songs with high resolution album arts do not show, and some lags when switching songs.

Yeah, I've seen that issue with my QNAP's built-in DLNA server, but my MinimServer running on the same NAS shows FLACs fine. It just then adds 6 hours to each track's playtime??

Hello

I have problems with very slow files transfers with both Wifi and USB OTG. I use the ES Explorer included in the firmware.

My FiiO X5 III spent 15 minutes (!!) to copy 170 MB (27 MP3 files + 1 JPEG album art) to the micro SD card, via Wifi (WPA2 encrypted). Speed was 150 to 200 kB/s, with long pauses at 0 kB/s.
blink.gif

Same issue with OTG connection, but it is quicker : 5 minutes. Speed was 500 kB/s to 1.5 MB/s with long pauses at 0 kB/s, too.
When I copy larger files (such as 242 MB firmware ZIP file), copy is a lot quicker : 4 MB/s with no pause via USB OTG (with no pause).

The micro SD card is Samsung 128 GB extFAT formatted
I tried this card in my Android phone. Copy duration for the 170 MB (27 MP3 files + 1 JPEG album art) was 21 seconds.

My PC copy MP3 files at 16.5 MB/s on this card.

Firmware version : 1.1.1

Regards

I just experienced very strange battery drain on my FiiO. Wasn't listening music last 2 days, so this battery drain graph doesn't make any sense:

I went to bed at ~22:00 with rougly 60% battery charge and when I woke up at ~7:00 - I couldn't turn it on because battery was completely dead.
Wi-Fi and BT were off, pure music mode ON. Build number: 1.1.1
Any ideas what could cause that and how to avoid it in the future?
