Personally, I believe that the majority, if not all, of the UTWS5 owners are facing or will face the following 2 issues, sooner or later:

1. Multipoint connection, malfunctioning. To have the UTWS5 inside its closed case, and it to connect arbitrarily with the phone. When listening to music with another Bluetooth device, this stops the playback and you don't know what's going on.

2. The LHDC codec cannot work at 500/560 kbps, unless the Bluetooth audio sample rate is manually set to 44.1 kHz, in the Android Developer settings.

Both of the above issues were not present in the previous firmware, 1.42

It happens constantly with my UTWS5 V2. Mostly, when I charging the case and the iems same time.
For example: I had a listening session, then I put my iems in the case and connected the case to the charger.
When the case's led and the iems leds stopped blinking - take out iems and play a music. It's noticeable when the EQ went "off" and lost the settings, if EQ still "on" along with the settings, then put iems back in the case and charge it again.
It's reproduces for me almost 100% after the second charge if not after the first one.
In addition to that scenario, UTWS5 also loses EQ settings when I charging only iems (not charging the case in same time). This happened about 3 times during last two weeks I using UTWS5.
The third issue I facing is that some times the UTWS5 connects to my phone by itself when it keeps staying in the case (I think UTWS5 does unexpected restart or reboot for unknown reason).
BTW, I'm using multi-point connection with my android phone and windows laptop. Not sure that it's related the issues, but who knows.
Looking forward for solution.
I am experiencing the exact same issues. Everytime I disconnect and connect to the FiiO Control app via UTWS5, the EQ button is switched to off and the previous settings are erased, meaning I will need to adjust my EQ again...until the next time I disconnect.

A few other recommendations for EQ app:
1. Instead of using a slider to decrease pre-amp gain, change this to an actual number to allow for more precise adjustments. I always either under or over compensate.
2. Include other options such as Low Shelf and High Shelf etc. and not just peak

I upgraded the app and the firmware today hoping to see the PEQ but I only see a fixed-bands EQ with 10 bands.

Is there a way to switch into a "PEQ mode" (i.e. like the way Qudelix 5K allows you to switch between fixed-bands and parametric EQ) that allows me to adjust not only gain but also frequency and q-factor?

Or perhaps I've misunderstood the meaning of PEQ here?

long press and hold each band - advanced configuration page will come out.
this was also in the tutorial upon first download

Thanks for the kind feedback. We will report to the engineer and check whether we could reproduce the issue first. For tehe reconnection problem, please try to clean the charging pins before putting the UTWS5 back to the charging box to see whether the issue remains?

From Monday, March 20, I will receive and start using my new phone, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. I hope the UTWS5 and the BTR7 will function flawlessly. Also, looking forward to the fix, as I'm planning to use my POCO F2 Pro as a DAP player, before donating it to a family member.

Do you happen to know when can we expect another firmware update for the UTWS5? Multipoint connection does not function properly, either.

Hi FiiO,
when I put iems into the case and it starts charging iems with both leds are blinking. I considering it as they have a good contact in the charging case. Isn't it?
Then after some time of charging UTWS5 connects to my phone. I didn't touch the case and it stays in the place where I left it. It happens not every time, but sporadically.
The most annoying issue for me is the loosing the EQ settings form time to time and this why I looking forward for FW update with the fix.

I can confirm that the UTWS5 connects to my phone while it is inside the case. I have already reported this in previous, recent, posts here. For example, I am listening to music with my FiiO BTR7 or my Qudelix 5K, and the UTWS5 is inside its closed case. Then, then lights light up and the music stops playing on my phone. I check in my Bluetooth Settings and I see the UTWS5, connected.

When it comes to EQ, I never use it, but I definitely believe all the people who report that they lose their EQ settings.

Finally, with multipoint, it is the first time I have used it. I have 2 devices, my phone and my laptop, and I have 2 pairs of the UTWS5. Before the 1.5 firmware, I had one UTWS5 permanently and exclusively paired to my phone and the other UTWS5 to my laptop. After manually installing the 1.5 firmware, I decided to test it. So, I paired both of my UTWS5 with both of my devices. It does not work properly. It reconnects to the wrong device. Whenever I take a pair out of the case, I can hear "Connected" and right after, "Disconnected". Very confusing. So, I reset it back to one pair of the UTWS5 with one device.

And yes, I have factory-reset both of them, unpaired and repaired them, etc

Looking forward to a new firmware, as well.

Yesterday I decided to update to version 1.5. Everything has been working fine. No problem with eq storing, multipoint took me some time but at the end it was working as well.

I believe that the 1.5 firmware appeared to be working fine to you simply because you have not used it more days and in various conditions. If you would do that, you would encounter some of the major flaws of this firmware. For example, multipoint connection getting confused and not working properly, LHDC does not sound right, EQ settings getting deleted etc.

I have 2 pairs of the UTWS5. One of them runs the 1.5 firmware and it's getting confused and not working properly. My other pair, I've downgraded to 1.4 firmware and everything works fine, as expected.

I am now considering 2 other solutions:
The Null Audio Nyx+
The New Gen QCC5171 Bluetooth 5.3 Audio Module

I am just considering them, I will not buy anything until the people have tested them.
