Found what was the problem. LDAC doesn't work with equaliser in fiio app. Turned off equaliser and ldac works stable now. Maybe it will help somebody.Hi. Changed phone to Samsung S24 Ultra. So now there is no lhdc, no even aptx adaptive.
Aptx sounds boring.
LDAC works around 5-10 minutes just fine. After that is just silence and some cracks in headphones. So you need to turn off and on utws5 to make it work again.
Made clear pairing with 12 sec hold button in case, pair again. Didn't help.
Tried 16/24/32, 44/48/96 combinations in developers options. Didn't help.
Any suggestions how to fix this? It's obvious that you can't use headphones if it works only 5 minutes.
Thanks.

No, it is not a solution. ldac worked around 25-30 min and now it's silence and cracks. But it's definitely better than 5 minutes of working before.Found what was the problem. LDAC doesn't work with equaliser in fiio app. Turned off equaliser and ldac works stable now. Maybe it will help somebody.
Same issue with Galaxy S23 plus, but I don't hear a noticeable difference between AptX and LDAC. It's doesn't bother me much. No, it is not a solution. ldac worked around 25-30 min and now it's silence and cracks. But it's definitely better than 5 minutes of working before.
FiiO added LDAC support at an experimental phase and as such, we can not expect it to work flawlessly. Sadly, Samsung LDAC support is just about functional, not to mention, the codec is supper sensitive to enviroments dense with wifi and other wireless signals, and in those circumstances, LDAC is seriously unstable.Same issue with Galaxy S23 plus, but I don't hear a noticeable difference between AptX and LDAC. On top of all of that, LDAC generates a lot of heat, as the components have to work harder to process the extra data, and that is another contributing factor to the problem.
Samsung Implementation of APTX is also Abysmal, with no support for other than the basic version. Samsung wants to push their own hi-fi codect, to leave consumers with little choice but to buy Samsung's own earbuds if they want solid hi-res audio support. In essence Samsung has copied Apple, and they have created their own ecosystem Only Samsung products have full functionality withing their ecosystem, with third party offerings barely supported if at all.

Yes it was done as experimental -- but there's been no updates and the UTWS5 has been the only product from them in this class.FiiO added LDAC support at an experimental phase and as such, we can not expect it to work flawlessly. Raises concerns for support going forward for the "new" version -- when you have budge companies implementing the latest codecs like AptX Lossless or LHDC v5 flawlessly it's frustrating that the UTWS5 is still struggling around EQ/LDAC and codecs in general

If you do not have a newer Snapdragon Chipset (i.e. Snapdragon Sound Cert'd) it will not work well because FiiO shoehorned LDAC in on the bandwidth of this.
It is all over the place on my FW5' on my old, Android phone (Motto Z2 Force so does LDAC and still uses an older Snapdragon chipset) unless only use one earbud and fine on my new phone (Moto Edge 50 Ultra).
Now due to Samsung and there lack of interest in giving you the newer aptX family that may be the issue even if the actual hardware is there, the Codec and the Cert is not so it may effect this and not allow LDAC to work in that way and the earbuds chipset simply do not have the bandwidth or/and compression to do it the default LDAC way.

Samsung s24 ultra is the latest phone on Snapdragon 8 gen 3. Bluetooth is 5.3. I guess it should has all the power to ldac work just fine. Even if you put phone near to headphones and keep it without any movement, it sounds only around five minutes and stops playing. I think it's not about bandwidth or something, it's kind of inner error.
I already knew before that Samsung limited the LDAC codec. My experience using UTWS5 when paired with Snapdragon 710 Realme X can use LDAC with Max bitrate 660. When paired with Snapdragon 782g iQOO Z7 can use LDAC with Max bitrate 990.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 should be BT 5.4 and again if Samsung offer nothing better than aptX then it does not have cannot have Snapdragon Sound Cert so may not work as it does on others.
I am going to try it later with LDAC and see if I get the same issue with the EQ enabled (I do not use it) that other have found here but I woudl bet it works.
I rarely use these buggy POS but when I do it is better via aptX Adaptive or LHDC and both do 24/96.

Did any one at CanJam snap a photo of the spec sheet to see if anything else changed?

That's nice, the Alba are so small and light they're a great iem for on the go.Pretty good synergy imho.

Would have been nice for the design to be a little rounder. The very square edges feel a bit odd on back of ears but it's more how they're implemented the firmware --- lots of opportunity for improvement

The UTWS5 2025 integrates miniature wireless charging coils inside its compact body, upgrading the ear hooks with a wireless charging design. This completely solves the problem of oxidization that exists in traditional products, helping to improve the durability of the ear hooks dramatically. Get rid of worries about sweating and enjoy the music with pleasure.
There are 3 days left before the launch of the True Wireless Bluetooth Amplifier UTWS5 2025. Let’s stay tuned!
