SACD/DSD has already been around 17 years. Places like Bandcamp still sell Cassettes. Vinyl is on the rise and the few pressing machines (and corresponding support industries) can not being to match current demand. DSD is going no where. Nor am I advocating for it. I am was merely trying to say I wish I had a phone with nice hi-fi capitlidly like the X7 (which plays DSD, but I am more interested in FLAC which the iphone can not even do, nor can it do 24 bit files) 

Android phones can play HI-Res PCM for years, my LG V10 can play DSD too though it does via DOP, free yourself from the iSheepdom.

yeah. I am happy enough with my iphone 6 for now, but next phone upgrade in a year probably, I am switching for sure.

The amp module isn't doing anything when docked to the K5. I see no reason why the AM0 + K5 would behave any differently to say, the AM1 + K5.

And the answer is yes! X7 +AM0 over K5 can play music /Charge/USB DAC.
