Hey guys, I’m thinking of buying the Q7 the Gryphon or the Mojo 2. I have the BTR5 and the Ifi Go Bar. What would you recommend to drive the HEKV2 Stealth?
The Mojo is 500Euros, the Gryphon 600 and the Q7 850. Are there big gaps between those Dac/Amps (sound, price to performance?)

What is happening, when I turn on my Q7, I am seeing "the unit will not be charged with DC mode" message.
Is it not charging when in use (turned on)?
I see it is charging only if unit is off, and switch is power batt.
Is that it?

Yes, it mean It won't be Charged with DC mode,
If you want to charge with DC mode, you should trun the Power Swith on "BAT"

Dear friend,

1. You could use the lightning to type c cable comes with the Q7 for connecting to the iPhone. And our LT-LT1/LT-LT3/LT-LT4 could be compatible with the Q7 as well.
2. Yes, the FiiO Control app is compatible with the Q7.

Best regards
Hello, I just need help about the different filters. Could you please explain one by one, what effect they are supposed to produce, and for what type of music you recommend each of them ? Thanks a lot, and best regards.

Dear friend,

Filters are the sound effects born with the chip, which only has slight adjustments for the sound. Here are some introductions to different filters. These are only for reference since actual listening also has something to do with the matched device.
1) Sharp Roll-Off Filter: full and rich sounds, positioned at the very rear. It is suitable for pop music.
2) Short Delay Sharp Roll-Off Filter: robust, thick and atmospheric sounds, positioned at the rear. With accurate sound positioning and enough sound thickness, it is suitable for pop music.
3) Low Dispersion Short Delay Filter: neutral sounds, positioned near the middle. It is a traditional filter that can match different music styles. If you have no idea about the filter, you can choose this one.
4) Slow Roll-Off Filter: coherent and clear sounds, positioned near the middle. It is suitable for classical music.
5) Short Delay Slow Roll-Off Filter: ultimately untouched sounds, positioned near the front. It can create an immersive music environment with clear and uncontrolled sounds, which is suitable for classical music.
6) Super Slow Roll-Off Filter: soft sounds, positioned at the very front. It is fast with relatively clean sounds.

Best regards

Hello again,
And I'm sorry but I don't have those filters on my Q7.
The filters I want to know about are these : Fast / Slow / Mini / Mini Slow / Apodizing / Hybrid Fast / Brick Wall.

I don't really perceive important changes when switching between them, so I really need you to please explain them one by one, what effect they are supposed to produce, and for what type of music you recommend each of them ? Thanks a lot, and best regards.

Dear friend,

Filters are the sound effects born with the chip, which only has slight adjustments for the sound. Here are some introductions to different filters. These are only for reference since actual listening also has something to do with the matched device.
1) fast roll-off,linear phase filter: Most Common filter with clean suppression and high rejection, best for music with high transients. Provides crisp clean highs
2) slow roll-off,linear phase filter: coherent and clear sounds, positioned near the middle. It is suitable for classical music.
3) fast roll-off, minimum phase filter: Minimal Pre- Ringing, preferred for Imaging and soundstage. No aliasing in frequency domain. Stronger bass than Linear Phase, clean highs
4) slow roll-off, minimum phase filter: Non-Symetrical filter designed to minimize pre-ringing. Strong punchy bass with good transient attacks
5) apodizing fast roll-off,linear phase filter: Version of Linear phase fast roll-off filter optimized to improve pre-ringing.
6) hybrid fast roll-off, minimum phase filter: Combination of Linear-phase and Minimum-phase. Fast transient attack, strong punchy bass, crisp highs.
7) brickwall filter: On of the earliest designs, intended for highest suppression possible, with high delay and pre-ringing.
Just for reference since some users said they could not hear the difference.

Best regards

I'm sorry that our previous Q7 did not support the USB side to support PEQ, but we are currently doing technical research in this area, and now it looks feasible.

We will be the first to support PEQ on the USB side in our new product Q15, and we will consider upgrading Q7 if it is technically feasible.

But I must say, these are not yet confirmed, but only technically evaluated, we think it is feasible. :beerchug:
I can see EQ has been promised for the q15 (as of now only working on bluetooth due to some issues from what I've read).

Just checking if you have some more input on the Q7 global eq possibility - after 6 months since you gave some hope that it can well happen, how likely is it looking now? I'm holding off getting the Q7 until I can get more clarity on this.

FiiO mentioned in another thread (I think it was Q15 thread) that most likely global PEQ will not be implemented for Q7 (too many unforeseen problems could arise)
Yes I know - I was the one asked that on the q15 forum I think
