Hi @FiiO Willson @FiiO
Happy New Year to All!

The question - will Q7 drive appropriately the low impedance planar headphones like Moondrop Venus, DCA Aeon Noire and so on?

The Q7 does a really good job at powering my HE1000V2's, even at high volume. Just don't expect desktop amplifier performance at the same price point.

Hi there, as it tends to drive comfortably well my HE-6, I will say yes, without a sweat. However, you may have difficulties with the overall sound signature, which is another story.
Hi, TheDecline01,
HE-6 impedance is 50 Ohm, if I'm not wrong. THX-788+ has TPA6120A2 in circuit and AFAIK has problems with impedance lower than 32 Ohm.

The Q7 does a really good job at powering my HE1000V2's, even at high volume. Just don't expect desktop amplifier performance at the same price point.
HE1000V2 also 35 Ohm, so meet specs and 3Watts in desktop mode might be enough.

My concern is regardig to low impedance planars.

Well yes, HE6 is above 50ohms of impedance. However, I tend to think that down until 16ohms, every DAP stays in the comfort zone electrically. Under... that'll pull on current, which is not where DAPs are good. However, given the power at 32ohms and the sheer size of the Q7 battery, I would say I don't see any incompatibility.
Besides, if the Q7 can't drive those properly, I can't see of any other portable/transportable amp that could under 1000€.

Found:

2.5mm / 4.4mm Headphone out (Super High gain)

  • Output power : 1500mW @16ohm / 3000mW @32ohm / 550mW @300ohm
  • Output impedance : < 1.7 ohms (32ohms)

  • Output power : 1500mW @16ohm / 1500mW @32ohm / 260mW @300ohm
  • Output impedance : < 2.2 ohms (32ohms)
So, not too powerful for low-impedance headphones.

Thanks for response, I considering HE6 as one of candidate on aftermarket. And yes, there is no portable alterative to Q7 with the same power on the market today.

Oh wait, I should have written "reasonnably" rather than "comfortably". The Q7 will give serious hints of what an HE-6 can do, but it will not give it full justice, just so we're clear.

I strongly advise to go for easier to drive headphones if you're new to the business or in search for the most consistent setup.

Dear friend,

Hi, happy new year! Theoretically yes. And you could refer the answer from other users or reviewers as well.

Best regards

Hi ! Where to buy a leatherette case for Q7 ? I use Q7 very actively and the case is worn out.
Found only for M17. Is it the right size for Q7 ?

Dear friend,

You could contact us via support@fiio.com about that if you need an extra leather case for Q7.
