Thick but detailed and not emphasized and transparent....this q15 sound like your headphones sound not far from neutral...only more delicate than aggressive but same time livery energetic without harsh or limited harsh....i only try mojo 2 with hd660s2 and hd660s2 sound better than with mojo 2...for other headphones is more difficult to say exactly...buy trust me q15 have more benefits that faults in sound signature you will not be disappointed

Yeah, you’ve hit it on the head - the best device is the one that best fits your needs.

I've had one for about 3 days now and am quite happy with the sound quality and power. I've found a small issue when having it connected to a Windows 10 pc, when playing back from any source there is no audio for about a second before playback starts. This happens both in the battery operated and Desktop Mode. I've tried the FIIO website driver, rather then the one windows installed and rebooted, although Windows shows the Q15 and I can use it the FIIO driver app does not detect it.

Reading the FIIO firmware page for the Q15, two people seem to have had theirs bricked after doing firmware updates to the most recent update, I'm a little hesitant to try this in an attempt to fix this issue.

Your help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Same thing happens on macOS.

So far, every DAC/AMP I've tried suffered from this. The device goes into some kind of a standby mode and needs a signal to wake up. That usually takes a fraction of a second.

I don't currently use a Mac, but did for over a decade and did not run into this issue with either a Oppo Sonica, Audio Quest Dragon Fly Black or a Pro-Ject Pre Box S2 Digital. And more recently I've not had this issue with a Mojo 2 in Windows.

I've adjusted the Q15's idle time to 10 minutes but this has not had any effect. I guess it could a design issue / defect rather then the a setting

It wouldn't have been an issue if the audio content / song took a second to start , but your losing the first second while its played inaudibly.

Dear friend,

Thanks for the kind feedback. This is designed in order to avoid the big pop sound during playback starts. We will report to the engineer for assessing whether we could improve about that.

Best regards

Is it possible to use coax cable on dual xlr in on rupert neve rnhp amp? or the only way is coax to dual rca? the reason i’m asking is I want to experiment with the extra dBs and power the xlr input offers on the rupert neve amp. also how much voltage does the fiio q15 output?

Dear friend,

1. The Q15 does not have XLR coaxial port. It seems that I did not meet coaxial port in XLR.
2. As for the voltage data, you could check the parameter for help: https://www.fiio.com/q15_parameters

Best regards

So if I’m using Maschine+ (see connections below) and want to connect it to the Q15, should I use the TRS phone out or dual TRS line out to the coaxial input on Q15? Thanks in advance.

Dear friend,

Is the lineout or phone out of your Maschine+ outting coaxial out? According to this description, it is more likely to be analog output instead.
The Q15 does not have analog input port, so the Maschine+ could not connect to the coaxial port of Q15 when it is using analog output.

Best regards
