Very few albums available at bit rate above 48 kHz, try "Loreena McKennitt – An Ancient Muse" for example, its 96 kHz for sure
Problem now also solved for my phone. Bought a female to female USB-C adapter (coupler) to connect the tiny little dinky cable that came with the FiiO amp to a longer normal USB-C cable. For whatever reason, with the dinky cable connected to my phone and then the adapter and longer normal cable connected to the amp, a higher bitrate signal is being seen by the FiiO amp because the light is now yellow.

Now that the bitrate concerns are assuaged, I bought a higher-end FiiO amp/DAC. Perception is, they are better engineered and higher quality/more reliable.

Problem solved on the PC. I have to manually set the bitrate in the PC system sound menu option for the FiiO that shows up when it is connected and powered on. Then I have to restart the PC to get sound to work. FiiO amp light is now yellow. I have the PC system sound menu bitrate set to 32 bit, 96000Kh
RGB color is only related to the sampling rate. Not the bit rate

Bonus point for the 3.5mm port that doubles as a SPDIF port (mini-toslink).

Review says mini toslink. Review says the same about KA5. Can you verify? Support told me differently. Hard to know which mini cable to order.
Dear friend,

Here is the definition of the coaxial port for Q11 and KA5:

Secured mine the other day for 169 kiwi pesos. First impressions are very good. Powers the Valis with relative ease and resolution is impressive, even with Spotify. Must head back to Tidal given lossless is the same price and my free three months are up.

Pretty neutral I'd say (as do others), but not cold, sterile or even flat. Good match for the warmish Kennertons.

Will be interesting to compare it to the desktop rig if I can be bothered plonking the big BCL back on the coffee table and hooking it up to the streamer and DAC. Just so much easier to use the Q11 on the couch.

Type C cable could be longer, particularly as my Nova 3i is micro and I don't have an adapter yet (edit: OTG USB works). Once I do I might even double stack it like the old days with the E07K for walking the dog. KZ ZSNs sound fine from my phone, but it can't compete with a dedicated DAC/Amp, even one which can be picked up for pennies.
