[FiiO Q11] Headphone Amplifier/DAC DSD256 384kHz/32bit with 3.5/4.4mm Output(V0.13 firmware updates at 2023-04-28: UAC 1.0 function has been added.)

Secured mine the other day for 169 kiwi pesos. First impressions are very good. Powers the Valis with relative ease and resolution is impressive, even with Spotify. Must head back to Tidal given lossless is the same price and my free three months are up.

Pretty neutral I'd say (as do others), but not cold, sterile or even flat. Good match for the warmish Kennertons.

Will be interesting to compare it to the desktop rig if I can be bothered plonking the big BCL back on the coffee table and hooking it up to the streamer and DAC. Just so much easier to use the Q11 on the couch.

Type C cable could be longer, particularly as my Nova 3i is micro and I don't have an adapter yet (edit: OTG USB works). Once I do I might even double stack it like the old days with the E07K for walking the dog. KZ ZSNs sound fine from my phone, but it can't compete with a dedicated DAC/Amp, even one which can be picked up for pennies.
Dear friend,

Thanks for sharing.

Best regards

The Q11 sold a lot. Why are so few people discussing it? haha:gs1000smile:
Give peace a chance mate, it was only recently released to my knowledge. YT has a few reviews already. Surprised it was available from a bricks and mortar store down under here in the shaky isles.

Given the tiny tariff some might look down their nose at the little device, and others may prefer a smaller dongle. However I love the aesthetics and purity of design, the functionality if not practicality (who needs Bluetooth lol). Sounds fantastic to my ear, and not just for the price, but won't power everything under the sun from the single ended output of course. Nonetheless I'm over the moon with the way it drives my Kennerton Valis. No longer in possession of the ATH R70x or DT1770 pro which would have been good tests.

I wonder myself too. I got one out of curiosity around the same time as KA5, perhaps overshadowed by the excellent KA5? :)

I use the Q11 with my full-size cans, or when I want to listen slightly louder than usual.

@FiiO Can Q11 be used as a portable amp with line in from another device?

I believe the only input is USB, no analog input. I don't see any line-in ports in my unit.

How to update:

Hmm, I can't seem to get the updater working in Windows 11 22H2 update... Tried it with both my desktop PC and my laptop.

Dear friend,

What message would you receive when you try to run the updater? We tried in the Win11 computer and the update worked fine.

Best regards

No message at the beginning, the updater just become unresponsive for very long (10+ minutes). I had to close it eventually, but sometimes there were several times when a message that says "EEPROM can't be written" showed up.

Tried again with my wife's laptop with Windows 10, also same result. Not sure what's wrong with my Q11.

Does this page show:

Please remember to reconnect the Q11 to the computer. And does the product id(0060) keep same as the Q11 shown in the device manager:
