Hi Fiio

Sony LDAC headphones are too bassy.
Can you please add an 11 band eq like Onkyo have in their Hi Res iOS app? It's a great one.

Please make it a global eq that allows best quality LDAC

Here is the type of curve the Sony WH1000X M3s need to sound "flat"

It's a - 5db bell shaped reduction @ 70hz

We will add a +/12dB dynamic EQ in our FiiO Music on Android / X7/ X7II/ X5III, but it may not available on M7/M9 cause the hardware limited.

How do Spotify, Deezer or Tidal high quality streams sound through the Mobius? The Audeze get some great reviews.

I only use Qobuz and sometimes if it is not available there I go to Spotify. Let me check, since I have not used Spotify on the M9 so far.
When it comes to the combo with the Audeze I found a strange phenomenon, with 7.1 is there quite a bit of additional hiss, with 2 channel - still in the headtracking 3 mode - it is much less. With the hi res mode of the Mobius it is gone. But now there is no 3D algorythm at work.

If the M9 does not have the calculation power for a full 10 band parametric EQ with +/-12dB, it hast to be somekind of a compromise. Probably only a 5-6 band parametric EQ with +/-6dB. I could live with that.

10 hours maximum with an unbalanced headphone at volume "60" (of 120) probably less. Wifi + bluthooth streaming seems to use less power.

I just had another track (standard 16/44.1 FLAC File ripped from CD with EAC) which has these strange cracking noises at certain positions of the track. Does anyone else has experienced something similar?
(FiiO is already looking into it.)

Edit:
and the next one. :frowning2:
Darn, besides this the combination with my FLC8s sounds so great.

Will try our best and see what we can do in M7/M9

Has FIIO commented on the lack of 5GHZ WIFI support? I wonder if perhaps the hardware in the M9 is capable, but it needs a firmware update to get enabled. The time is likely fast coming where 2.4GHZ WIFI will fade into the sunset ... you get higher bandwidth at the higher frequencies ..

It's not a software enable. The physical HW does not have it.

5GHz would be nice but it is more expensive chipset and the only apps that use the Wifi are very low bandwidth anyway.

That's very brave! Thanks for the field report!

Hey I can't see the Google Chromecast icon on my M9...:triportsad:

I would like to beam 96k 24 bit audio via wifi to my Hi Fi system.

Any ideas? Anyone sending to Chromecast from their M9 ?

The Chromecast icon is not visible in Qobuz and I cant see it in Spotify.

Thanks

I don't believe the M9 does.

As a general FYI though, Casting is not really beaming audio around like BT. When you use your smartphone and 'cast' say to a Google Home or Chromecast, it isn't using your device as a source but rather a remote. You can turn off your originator device that sent out the cast immediately after and it will stay playing on the chromecast device. This is because the chromecast receives the 'command' and then becomes the orginiator of that signal itself.

Thanks

OK I need to get an LDAC Bluetooth reciever. (And ditch the Chromecast)

BTR3 works well with it.

how long does the battery last?

~8-10 hours with general use.

Standby has been heavilly improved with FiiOs devices and is impressive. I used the M9 and then completely forgot about it for a week (didn't even remember to touch it to turn it off). Then pressed the power a week later and the device booted fairly quickly as it isnt coming from a full power off and it had only about 7% less battery than what it approx had before I forgot it on my desk.

and the next track with crackling noises. :rage:

Can it be that I have a faulty unit?
By any chance does probably somebody has the song "Hard times" by Vanessa Fernadez and could check this for me (at 02:10, 02:13 and afterwards) if they have problems with the track?
In audacity I cannot see any unsual overrides, this is a very well recorded album.

Ok - I’ll check again tonight. What OS are you using?
