After messing with dsotm and wywh Dsf files / iso etc trying get the album to stay gapless without having to resort to converting to flac to rid it of that pause between tracks, I've found Tascam Hi Res editor to some what solve the problem.
Basically extract the iso to seperate dsf files and then just combine them one at a time to create one dsf file of the full album.
That sounds like a lot of work for a feature that was supposed to be working and that may eventually be corrected by FW update.

This was answered and noted quite a few times in the past. You've gotta be sharp!
There is either physical interferance(magnetic or RF) or something internal on an embedded side if they choose to use a combo chipset.

Wifi and Bluetooth both use 2.4GHz (Wifi also has 5GHz but the M9 does not support that freq) and so there is issues.

Basically the wireless, it's good....but not that good.

They already know about this issue but you are free to email them to re-iterate the point

Sorry. I am still following up on the original thread and had reached page 29 of 44 and thought, okay maybe I am the only one. Better read everything next time.

It was mentioned two pages before your original post (page 44) on page 42 and the last few before that as well with the fix for it.

Not really about half hour tops from extracting from the iso to re combining the seperate dsf files and tagging and adding album art, far better than having those annoying mini gaps between the tracks. I guess it depends how perfection driven you are. It's not the end of the world but it would just grate on me long term and as for waiting for Fiio to fix it ....... Well I won't hold my breath as I've already asked them and the response I got was " yes we have disabled the gapless feature on DSD audio" not really an answer imo, so I asked why ? Total silence ..... In this case silence is not golden !

Try upping the sample rate to 192. It may help synching.

Hi, a word of warning for the German M9 buyers. On the https://www.fiio.de/mobileaudioplayer/fiio-m9/ website it says:

MODELLBEZEICHNUNG:
FiiO M9
KOPFHÖRERAUSGANG:
3,5 mm Klinke und 3,5 mm symmetrisch
LINE-AUSGANG:
3,5 mm Klinke + optischer Ausgang

Clearly it is not 3.5 symmetric but 2.5 more important it has not optical but only SPDIF coaxial output.
Took my buying a cable and hanging half an hour in the German hotline to find it was just not true.

In digital audio a higher sample rate always = a lower latency time (lag)

Sadly the USB-DAC seems to introduce a lag. This makes watching videos not possible, as they're async. Probably a common fault and cost saving for them to not use a XMOS chipset.

FiiO is aware of this issue and is working on a fix last I heard.

I noticed it too when I tried using the M9 to play a competetive FPS and use it as a DAC for the first time. I was not amused playing the first match with all my sound delayed by a second.

BTW - I downloaded the latest Qobuz apk and installed it on the Fiio M9. Besides having to import everything new, it worked fine. Not so sure if it works better compared to the apk offered on the Fiio website, but it works. I tried the newest version of the Qobuz app because on one of my other players, the Sony NW-ZX2, it made a positive difference. While the older Qobuz version was often for a very long time unresponsive when starting a playlist etc., the new version is more reactive and works a bit better.
Interestingly when downloading with the new Qobuz app on my usual devices like iPhone or iPad, it imports only one titel after the other. On the M9 it downloads two titles at the same time. Could this be because of the two AK4490EN DACs? Are they maybe not only DACs but CPUs?

Hi, I have a question about the color code of the Fiio logo. According to the Fiio documentation blue means lossy.

Now when I import Qobuz files in CD quality it should be purple but it stays blue although Bluetooth is disabled.
With CDs played via the Fiio Music it shows the pruple color. Any ideas?
Dear friend,

For 3rd party APP, the M9's indicator work like the status in DAC mode:

So you could read this for reference.

Thank you.
I have send an email and hopefully the links to the files will work.
Best regards

P.S. I have another question: Is it planned to put the amazon music app on the white list? Thx
Dear friend,

We have recorded the APP you reported.

The engineer will check the feasibility of adding it to the white list first.

Best regards
