I think it will be enough to copy

Øresund Space Collective

And paste it in the Artist tag of any music file and you'll be able to reproduce it.

Or Ålesund or München or Österreich or Märchen or ë, ė, ã, æ, ù, ô and so on.
Or simply the FiiO music app should be compatible to ISO 8859-1.

Recorded. Will update to the engineer about that.

Best regards

@FiiO / anyone here know if the coax SPDIF out on the M9 is 1:1 bitperfect when feeding an external dac?

Dear friend,

Yes, the sampling rate of the music will not be changed when using coaxial out.

Best regards

Sampling rate is just one criterea for bit perfect:

http://www.thewelltemperedcomputer.com/KB/BitPerfect.htm

Most of the time bit perfect playback refers to the absence of any type of DSP (Digital Signal Processing) like volume control, sample rate conversion, dither, etc.

Are you going coax to coax - and have you got the output of the M9 set to Coax out?

Hi Brooko.
Thankyou for your reply.
Yes I'm pretty sure did, do I have to change a setting in the m9? To make the two units connect joined them with a single RCA,, as both units have female connecters. Could that be the problem? Regards Steve

@FiiO
May I request Neutron MP player to be whitelisted (the paid version)?
Thank you.

You need to set LO on the M9 to SPDIF. Connect a male-to-male coax cable to the M9 and NFB-11 and switch the NFB to SPDIF/COAX input. Works perfectly on my R-28.

Yep - what gLer said. Also works perfectly with my iDSD :)

Me too @loungecat, it packs an incredible amount of features and quite a punch for a small device at this price point. Sets the current bar for midrange daps. Has a few niggles and rough edges, but not much that can't be fixed in software (which Fiio will hopefully do over time). Do wish it had a bit more grunt (CPU/RAM) so that more apps could be whitelisted and current apps (like Tidal) wouldn't be so sluggish compared to their smartphone counterparts, but again for the price, compromises must be expected. With luck we'll see similar devices with extra power for not much more money in the near future.
