Please confirm and try the following steps provided by the engineer:

1. Is the SD card having more than 1G free space?

2. Delete the firmware update package. And download again.

3. After copying the firmware to the SD card, restart the M5 then update the firmware again.

The M5 could support the following formats:

And it supports resume function. I am not sure whether this could meet your need.
Or you may consider the Android player like M6 and install the audible APP in it for help.

FiiO M5 with LDAC transmitter with 990 kbps or normal 660kbps?. LDAC has 3 modes. 330-660-990 kbps.

Other question. With PS4 not compatible. With ps5... yes?

Pulled the trigger myself... folks, do NOT buy this case by @ddHiFi !!!

Swiping gestures are impossible with this case on. Cannot plug in any USB C cable with this case on. The leather has a nasty smell. Avoid!

Hi all, curious to hear from M5 owners who have pushed it with demanding headphones. Where is the ceiling on this little device?

I'm looking for a portable music player for workouts/ running that has excellent gapless and bluetooth playback as well as a decent battery life. Good sound quality with a high volume output for those sometimes long workouts is a plus too. I was honestly ready to pick up one of the newer cheaper sansa players when I realized that none of them do gapless playback anymore let alone bluetooth. All my workout tracks are dj mixes (320kbps MP3) where one track merges into the next one and any silence in between is just plain awful.

Will the M5 fulfill my needs? I just need it to play gapless and be compatible with my Jabra Elite Active 75t bluetooth earphone while I workout.

From what I remember it supports gapless and the bluetooth transmitter mode is very good.
Of course when used as bluetooth TX then max volume and sound quality is up to your bluetooth earphones and not the player.

1) I am curious how adequately the resume (position) feature would work for audiobooks/podcasts?
2) How easy is it to rewind 10-15 seconds in a long track?
