Hi @FiiO, any plans to update M5 ?

Shanling and Hiby have recently released updated versions of their smallest DAPs, M0 Pro and R2 mk2 respectively.

It would be nice to have more competition in the market. Small DAPs, while not strictly "audiophile" are extremely handy at the beach / pool.

What else can I say, summer holidays are just behind the corner :D
Dear friend,

Thanks for your interest in our product. We do not have this plan currently.

Seems like there is a major bug in the software. If you select and play something from Browse you are no longer able to go to Now Playing and select music via the media database. The Browse section has taken over the Now Playing section completely. One must power off and on the device to be able to play something from the media library again.

I missed the boat on these as they aren't sold any more so I have had my eye on the Shanling M0 Pro. I just saw a local secondhand listing and was reading some reviews. There are quite a few negative reviews on Amazon when it was first released around 2019 about bluetooth, battery and UI. Have there been firmware updates that have ironed out any of these issues?

Hi everyone, I'm having an issue with card formatting on my M5. I've been using an M5 & 256gb card for several years (still on FW1.4.7). I recently purchased a 512gb card (PNY Class 10 U3 SDXC). I formatted the card in the M5 (fat32). After transferring some music to the card (using my MacBook Pro & drag'n'drop from the prior 256gb card), I inserted the 512gb card back into the M5, but it does not detect the card. I get a "please insert SD card" message. I even tried clicking "update media library" in settings, but it doesn't do anything.

It's been so many years since I last did this, I don't recall what I did, nor do I recall having this issue. Any help would be appreciated!
