I have a few questions (some may be repeating other questioners, but just take that to mean that the interest exists across multiple people):
  1. Podcast support - does the player recognize the "podcast" genre tag and treat those files differently than other music files? Specifically, some bookmarking (automatic preferred) is a top priority, and speed control is nice to have.
  2. M3U Playlists - how are they recognized or imported or integrated?
  3. Album Artist tags - are they recognized and integrated into the database in any way?
  4. How does "resume" work? Does the player immediately resume the last-played song (and position) when the device is turned on, or does it require extra steps?
  5. Is it possible to disable the full-screen clock extra step when turning the screen on?

Dear friend,

1. Podcast is not supported.
2. The M3U playlists can be read from file browser.
3. Album artist is not supported.
4. Resume mode may work like this:
Song: Press the power button to turn off the M5 during playback. After turning it on again, it will automatically
start playing the song played when the previous shutdown, and the song will start playing from the beginning;
Position: Press the power button to turn off the M5 during playback. When it is turned on again, it will
automatically start playing the song played when the previous shutdown, and the song will continue to play from
the progress of the playback.
5. Yes you could turn off the full-screen clock function if you would prefer.

Best regards

Thank you for the reply. I continue to hope that one day, we will see a DAP with the features common in most MP3 players of the previous millennium. I'm unclear why Crative, iRiver and SanDisk could recognize Album Artist and Podcast in 2000, but they are mysterious creatures in 2019.

It is baffling. Sony still does it though.
