Dear friend,

Thanks for your kind feedback.
It was the previous design plan for the M5 but not the final design. As for the final parameters, you may refer to our website soon. The M5 would support lossless BT transmitting LDAC instead.

Best regards

LDAC is a lossy codec, as are all available Bluetooth codecs. It's based on modified discrete cosine transforms, and is a very high-performing codec, but not lossless. I suppose it could be considered lossless (effectively, if not technically true) if the source audio doesn't exceed the data transfer rate available (up to but not guaranteed to be 990 kbps).

That's great news!

And what about function of USB BT transmitter?

Pc/phone usb > M5 BT ldac transmission > headphones
Would that be possible?
Dear friend,

No. It is not supported by the M5.

Best regards

@FiiO
What is the official price of the M5 for US and EU market? Or it's still under consideration?
Dear friend,

The retail price is depended on regions and the MSRP in U.S is about 100USD.

Best regards

Analogue output power is extremely low : 24mw@32ohm....

not saying high = good but come on fiio, this is like very low-end smartphone performances..

look at - Shanling M0 , 80mw @32ohm , Hidizs Ap80 - 70mw @32ohm.

bluetooth ver. is set purposely low too , ver.4.2 : even tho the chip supports 5.0. Because you are releasing btr5 soon?

only advantage seems to be its COAX out ...

Would this support TRRS connected headphones with mic and support sound pick up from the headphone mic for call functions? or it depends on its inner mic for sound pick up exclusively?
If not BTR3 support that feature?

Very interested. An M5 should arrive for me in the coming 2 weeks.

I saw it being used up-close at Canjam Socal last week. It looked to be very fluid. The gentleman using it was confused with how to do swipe manuevers but I'll take that as more of initial jitteryness.

He was thrown the M5 almost immediately after he sat down and bombarded with doing operations haha. :gs1000smile:
