Sorry, I didn't see that.
Wow, so they didn't think that being able to read your music tags was high up on the priority list for a music player! If this were a restriction they were going to live with the least they could do is get rid of the ugly red icons to make more space for the names!
I've never bought fiio before, do they have a history of fixing bugs like these or is this likely to stay broken? Really looking for a bluetooth transmitter for running with wireless headphones, are there any others around in this price range?
I'll make sure to mention this in reviews across a few sites so others are informed as I've seen no mention of it before, surprisingly!
Well lets leave thet to @FiiO to answer , how it is possible in 2019 to
release a player which doesn't support scrolling in names and titles.
It makes me wonder , when were testing the M5 not even one person encountered that problem?
I figured out it is called "usb transport." And since the M5 has the coaxial output, the usb transport is not implemented. The M11 seems to support usb transport. Usb transport draws power from the dap so it could be a strategic decision to avoid customer complaints about battery life. But the M0 does usb transport and not the coaxial out. You kind of wonder in this social networking world people are talking to take the easy way out and be comfortable; this used to be called anti competitive practices, now it is called business as usual at the US justice department division of so on and so forth.
Using the M5 as a USB transport does work, as I have it running as such to a Chord Mojo with Fiio’s LO6 connector. Under [Settings] -> [Select output] -> choose SPDIF.
Hi! Can this player pair with bt earphones that have separate bt modules for each ear (Creative Outlier Gold and other TWS)? The Headphones (Creative Outlier Gold) are informing me that they cannot complete the pairing with the device. But this issue has never occurred with other devices (smartphones or players)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We did not try this headphone you mentioned. But you may try to conncet the M5 to the L/R headphone separately ,then restart the m5 to see if it helps?
I've just taken delivery of a new M5 and have spent the last couple of hours playing about with it. Most of the functionality I require seems there-albeit the tag support is pretty limited-but one thing that I can't figure out at the moment is how to get the album names to scroll. I loaded a bunch of 'Now That's What I Call Music' albums and all I can see is multiple 'Now That's What I C' albums with no way of differentiating them!
Firmware is 1.2.1, music was FLAC although the same occurred with mp3.
Hope you can help as otherwise it's going back
The spec says two way usbc. But I also read some where here that there is an unused pin on the usbc that Fiio is using to route coaxial spdif. I think this is what Fiio is using to justify saying two way USBC. But most people understand two way usb as supporting usb dac and usb transport (meaning supplies usb power to the client). Anyway Fiio M6 does usbc transport, but does not do coaxial spdif. I also noticed the Fiio M6 does not do Aptx HD receive. It's like picking your poison which is going to harm you the slowest or the least. I bet software can change all that, but Fiio is working on the high end stuff, so my guess is priority is not there.
I am loving my M5, the form factor is pretty freaking awesome. I was seriously contemplating selling my 846s.. With that said, the screen size is a blessing and a pita.. for trying to navigate music.
How are you guys managing your music libraries and syncing playlists. Iv been using itunes for far too long and before that it was good old WPM and Winamp...
Is there a desktop based media player that you can use to manage and sync your music library to the M5 including playlists, rather then drag and drop...
Can you export an M3U playlist and does your M5 recognise this playlist..
I exported a playlist out of my itunes, changed the source links to point to the music locations on the SD card but the M5 did not pick it up...
got my m5 sound is great the disappointing is in the playlist side
1.not being able to rename playlists
2 not being to able add folders to a playlist instead i have to go in the folder and then bulk add.
3. being able to add m3u playlist
hopefully this can be fixed in the next firmware update
I have had my M5 for around a week and it's a great sounding player but I noticed the following things or bugs.
No replay gain
No text scroll
SD card glitch where sometimes any of my SD cards are not seen. Have to turn it on and off a few times for them to be found.
Also using it as a USB DAC in windows 7 I used the driver supplied on the FiiO website and the highest I can get is 24bit and 192khz and not the 32bit and 384khz as advertised.
