Now that the unsustainable tariffs are down, I am ready to buy the Fiio M21. The question is, where?
AliExpress has so many vendors, with some saying that they will deliver as late as July and some others in a couple of weeks. Besides, the prices are wildly different, so I don't know which vendor to trust. Also, they charge about 10% at the checkout. I tried using the coupon provided by @Khumbaba, and it didn't work.
HifiGo's checkout process looks more straightforward, but FIIO does not recognize it as a partner. And HifiGo doesn't offer the tape case. Somebody mentioned there is a $10 coupon available, but I was not able to find it.
Any other way to buy it from the USA? I wish it was available at Amazon TBH.

Even though they’re not a recognized parter I went ahead and ordered from HiFiGo since it’s not in stock on the official FiiO store and I have no way to judge which of the other dozens of Ali stores selling it are legit. I also would prefer an Amazon US listing.

One hour quick comparison to the Ibasso DX180 and Hiby R4 for the impatient people Like me……
Take it as you will. Using 4.4 balanced and Fiio Fh19.

I haven’t had time to do a long comparison but I will say, to me the DX180 is still the best DAP for the price because of its holographic nature and musical yet technical capabilities and replaceable battery. The Fiio M21’s stage is more in your head and closer to the stage of the Hiby R4. The Fiio M21 however does come in a close second next to the Ibasso Dx180 in dynamics and stage and then followed the Hiby R4.

To me the R4 just isn’t as technically capable it’s not a bad thing that it’s warmer but has a nice heft to the bass. the R4s bass isn’t as defined as the others as well. If you own an R4 is it worth the upgrade? To me, it is not.
Sure the R4 falls short in macro and micro dynamics in comparison to other two but it’s really not that far behind with its class A amplification The M21 is not as open sounding or holographic in stage as the Dx180 but it’s not far behind in desktop mode.

The paring with the Fiio Fh19 is fantastic and I don’t see myself wanting to get any other daps anytime soon. As much as I love my R4 I’m also a fan of Fiio and the M23 was my main source for about a year until I sold it for my Cayin N7. The M23 is just too big to carry for me. The Dx180 was my main carry but I just found it a little too expensive as an everyday carry for walking my dog and I’m just not a fan of the vol knob.

The M21 is perfect for me as an everyday carry and it’s budget to performance is pretty killer with its desktop mode. The difference isn’t subtle, it’s a really noticeable change in stage and dynamics to my ears. The M21 does get warm but never hot. It didn’t get super warm like the R4 on my short walk with Stevie my dog.

This is just a quick comparison for fun so take it as it is, I just spent an hour with it switching back and fourth with the Fiio Fh19 Iem, one of my personal favorites for chill mode. More impressions to come. Pm me for any feedback I’m open to that kind of stuff if you must know.

The M21 is pretty killer for the price but if you have the patience to save more money the Dx180 and M23 are still king ding-a-ling but a lot more cash as well and in another league to me. My opinion, my opinion only. I can happily say I’ll be selling my Ka17 and perhaps even my R4. Time will tell.

I can confidently say after an hour the M21 is worth it! It’s heavy on the bass and has a smooth and rolled off treble that will work perfectly with just about all IEM’s and headphones. It’s tuned to carry and perfect for on the move. Desktop mode turns up the stage and dynamics a few notches making its price to performance even more with while. My M21 is now my official everyday carry Dap.

I hope they add software to flip the side buttons when you flip the screen and that’s my only gripe so far with limited use. To be continued……..

The "Fiio Audio Store" I found doesn't list any M21 at the moment... But this is not probably the genuine one.

I have the same statement ; cannot ship to this address...
And I don't think this is the actual FiiO store, just a seller that found a similar enough name, but with no official statement of course...
