Yes, we will discuss with our local distributor soon. I think there wont be winner in custom tariff war. We will try to sell it in USA asap.
Thanks for the response, can’t wait!

Where did you order it from?
HiFiGo
heavy bass and smooth treble thats a bit strange, i thought m21 should be on more analytical side 🤔
Yeah. That comment has me a bit "worried". The charm of the JM21 is it's amazingly transparent stage, extended and airy/crisp treble, and lifted but not heavily lifted mid bass.

The paring with the Fiio Fh19 is fantastic and I don’t see myself wanting to get any other daps anytime soon. As much as I love my R4 I’m also a fan of Fiio and the M23 was my main source for about a year until I sold it for my Cayin N7. The M23 is just too big to carry for me. The Dx180 was my main carry but I just found it a little too expensive as an everyday carry for walking my dog and I’m just not a fan of the vol knob.

The M21 is perfect for me as an everyday carry and it’s budget to performance is pretty killer with its desktop mode. The difference isn’t subtle, it’s a really noticeable change in stage and dynamics to my ears. The M21 does get warm but never hot. It didn’t get super warm like the R4 on my short walk with Stevie my dog.
I can confidently say after an hour the M21 is worth it! It’s heavy on the bass and has a smooth and rolled off treble that will work perfectly with just about all IEM’s and headphones. It’s tuned to carry and perfect for on the move. Desktop mode turns up the stage and dynamics a few notches making its price to performance even more with while. My M21 is now my official everyday carry Dap.
You broach an important topic about DAPs since they’re ostensibly designed for mobility, but the pricier they’ve become… the more reluctant I am to travel with an audio Lamborghini in my pocket. The same applies to premium IEMs.

Like you’ve inferred, my own high-end DAPs are restricted to journeys from bedroom to living room while I continue to accrue less expensive versions for traversing the great outdoors, everything from the Lotoo Paw 5000 to the HiBy M300.

The FiiO JM21 proved to be worthwhile DAP to nestle alongside my phone on a coffee shop table, offering decent power from inside a plastic casing that causes little anxiety if dropped to the floor. I’m glad FiiO detoured back towards their wallet friendly roots for the JM21. It’s clearly a success and FiiO is being rewarded for this.

Still, I yearned for something a little more upscale and aesthetically pleasing, so here’s hoping the M21 will fit the bill.

One thing’s for certain. I doubt it’ll be the last DAP I ever buy. I guess we’ll like car collectors that don’t take up as much space in our garages.

Is there anyone from Europe here? Is it already being sold physically in the EU? Everywhere it says availability in May/June, but when I write to the store they can't guarantee a date. So what's the deal?
In my regular store, they told me that FiiO follows the philosophy of selling one or two months earlier in its official AliExpress store before bringing its products to local stores. I'll have to wait a little longer—June seems to be the date.

I had that feeling when I was looking after the DM13 in between november'24 and February'25 when I decided to buy from a seller on Aliexpress that seems to have disappeared since then :astonished:
Despite FiiO people stating it is not the case, they seem to favour the chinese market via platforms like Taobao that are not easy to access for non chinese-speaking people...
In France the DM13 is still difficult to find, maybe only the standard silver BT version is now available. The JM21 is nowhere to be found...
So if you really want a product right after release and the months after, you have to take the risk to order from 3rd party unofficial vendors, because the official ones do not sell it, and even the official Aliexpress shop is on shortage, or doesn't deliver to my country...

Sorry to say that, but I like less and less the commercial behaviour of Fiio; the products often come with bugs, and it takes a long time to have it solved, and buying from reputable sources is quite difficult... Things I haven't experienced with other brands.
There is no "official FiiO store" other than Aliexpress or Taobao, where we could buy in a reliable way from EU ?
All I know is Fiio EU, but they get products with the same delay, and it is just a reseller...

My local store has posted the product info with price and everything but still not available to buy. Usually it takes 7-14 days to be in stock.

What will its price be in euros in European stores? I hope it's no more than 350 euros. Otherwise, I'll buy the iBasso DX180.
Two days ago I tried on aliexpress with the coupon I posted previously... and if I'm correct it was 206 euros. But you have to pay import taxes I guess because it is shipped from china. Anyway the price in this case will be lower than hifigo price I guess.

Overflow? As has been widely reported “the Port of Los Angeles is experiencing a significant decline in cargo activity due to tariffs” and some packages due for LA seem to be bypassing California before being rerouted back for delivery.

A few sellers have been promising no additional costs on shipments to the US as well as agreeing to absorb all taxes and duty fees, so maybe they’ve found a loophole… or these tariffs and suspension of de minimis have yet to be enforced on individual consumers.
Keep in mind that Port of Los Angeles only does customs for products shipped via ocean carrier. Anything mailed or air freight would come through customs at LAX. 2 very different locations.

Shipping through other points of entry will work until CBP gets suspicious about the shipping volume changes at these secondary ports.

Additionally if the shipper uses one of the major air carriers like FedEx or UPS or DHL they can pay the tariffs to the carrier (or allow the carrier to bill them for amounts owed). Frequently the shipping carrier is the consignee and must collect and remit duties and tariffs to CBP (they don’t care where the funds come from as long as they get paid). It’s not uncommon to get a request for payment when purchasing goods from another country.

Bonded customs clearance involves storing imported goods in a bonded warehouse, deferring duty and tax payment until the goods are released for consumption. A bonded warehouse is a secure facility authorized by customs authorities where goods can be stored without immediate duty payment

Someone else here mentioned the Port of Los Angeles where transport is in decline and layoffs are looming. One of the vexing problems caused by these tariffs are merchants having purchased stock from foreign suppliers while absorbing the higher costs, meaning the recent slashing of tariffs down from 145% to 80% doesn’t benefit them since they already paid more beforehand and receive no rebate afterwards.
Shipping through other points of entry will work until CBP gets suspicious about the shipping volume changes at these secondary ports.
It’s been reported how some shipping intended for Los Angeles had been rerouted to the Port of Seattle which is a major player in cargo handling, especially since it manages both a seaport as well as the Seattle International Airport. Whatever tactic was being deployed is seemingly in abatement as the Seattle Port Chief keeps declaring “we have zero ships” to the press.

I’d mentioned how DHL was supposed to send me a link to pay an additional fee not included with my purchase, but the link expired and I received the package at no additional cost.

People have mentioned not seeing any reviews yet for the product in question, so I assume there’s a moratorium on sending review merchandise to the US right now. I do know an editor at a major publication was sent a high-end product for review, but had to refuse it due to an additional fee he was now expected to personally pay as it was verboten for the publishing house to do so. It was sent back.

Temu is reportedly transitioning to a local fulfillment model in the U.S. rather than shipping directly from China. I do know from an expatriate currently living in Mexico that Temu uses bonded warehouses there. She described their shipping costs as “infinitesimal” without the border crossings.

Your a lucky then, it usually takes several months before Fiio products or any Chinese DAP's show up in local stores in Canada. The JM21 just became available locally last month. So am looking at late summer before I can buy locally most likely.
