My order is still saying "Confirmed" in HifiGo, but I see some movement today in the tracking tool, so I assume it was already sent.

Glad I could help, I am glad to hear the M21 has some warmth as I prefer some warmth to dead neutral or bright. I am planning on using the desktop mode when at home so I am really looking forward to trying it out. What is the power requirement for the charger when using desktop mode? I have a bunch of chargers so I hope I already have one that will work.
When did you place your order
and which color did you choose?

HiFiGo is infallible. You'll get your M21 and love it.

It seems that, for the time being (one week only), people are pretty happy with the M21 in general, I didn't read anything wrong about it...

After the various bugs in the DM13 (I'm not really concerned personnally, mine works quite well for my use case) and the issues with JM21 (I have charging problems, and there was the idle battery drain issue due to WiFi) I thought I would never again buy anything from Fiio... :grimacing:

The M21 looks nice and sleek, basic but functional, not too big nor heavy, runs Android 13, so the most recent OS on a DAP at the moment...
My only doubt is on the battery life; could some of the early adopters make a runtime test with 3.5 SE output, med gain, volume about 40-50 on something like 32 ohms headphones ? No need to use the full battery, but a 100-20% or 80-20% would give a raw idea, if we are around 12 hours, 10 hours, or below...
Also, did someone noticed a problem of idle battery drain like it was the case on JM21 before FW 1.0.6 impremented wifi disable when idle ?

P.S: at first I thout the "tape case" was a kind of gadget, but it is true that I have some nostalgia of the 80's-90's and at 32€ it would be a nice addition when using at home :dt880smile:. I prefer the blue DAP, but for the case I would rather take the golden one... What are the extra buttons on there ?

Thank you for your feedback.

Hi, any charger that supports PD fast charging is OK.

Hi, through the buttons on the tape case, you can switch songs/pause playback/adjust volume, etc.

OK, in the meantime I found this picture that made me realize that there's no mechanical push buttons that act on the M21's actual buttons, but a PCB that embeds all functions... Nice, but I thought there were some added functions via extra buttons.

Apart from that, in the early speculations about M21, there were talks about exchangable batteries of different capacities; this would have been really nice, to please those that prefer a light and slim device, and also those that like to have a good battery life... Too late for M21, but are there any plans for such removable batteries on upcoming products ?

Will it be available from any other US retailers? Or Amazon?
BHPhoto is a US retailer.
EDIT: You said "other" and I should pay better attention to what I am reading. My apologies.

Dear friend,

Hi, early next month if everything goes well.

Best regards

Do you have a date on when HifiGo will be receiving their stock? They are saying they do not have stock update from Fiio.

After receiving my Fiio M21 i sold off my Ibasso Dx180, not because of sound but mostly because of the gain is to high on that device.
When i use my sensitive iems the jump between the volume is to high, and i just cant find that sweetspot.

I really like to dial in the lowest possible volume that gives me all the clarity and details. And its kind of a struggle with the Ibasso.
I dont know why they made it like that, and i asked around at many people listened to it like level 6 on the volume even with the low gain engaged æ.
Maybe it is to make it run high power headphones better?
But the is not that when you use the high gain setting for?

Anyway i loved how the ibasso looked in the army green i had, but that volum gain just was a dealbreaker for me.

And today i got the Shanling m3 plus delivered, and it is smaller then the fiio m21 but more chunky, but the build and the perceived quality and design on the fiio is more premium.
This is just what i see as first impression, only when i look at it.

And the fiio just feels more premium, but lets see how the Shanling sounds and how the user experience is right now it is downloading new firmware on the m3+ and that is on a new device that just came out and that is good that they are providing that.

But again the fiio just looks more premium and like a higher tech device.

And i listened to the Fiio M21 yesterday and it had good sound stage and detail retrieval was great.

But i have to test these devices alot more before final verdict, but for now if i get good synergy with this M21 with most of my iems.
I believe ill just sell the Shanling m3 plus, unless i just love the sound of it so much that i have both for different flavours and synergy.

But the M21 looks like the device to get for the money, and i only got the Shanling because i got a great deal for almost the same price as the fiio m21.

Lets see how this turns out. Good times

Does anyone own both an M21 and a Hiby R4 and can compare? I'm a bit torn between the 2. I like the idea of having a strap for the DAP and not sure if that's something that can be incorporated for the M21. In terms of sound, I enjoy a balanced sound with a bass boost.

Thanks!
