Agreed - I could never wrap my head around the way Astell&Kern designs their products - angular cases, screens at an angle, etc.

I’ve read in Shanling 3 plus thread, that m21 will be “brighter leaning” sound tuning. But there was no information about tuning yet. Or was?

Sure hope so, but brighter leaning than the JM21?! The JM21 is quite bright and neutral, with only a slight mid bass lift. If the M21 can pull into that ballpark, with more refinement in the treble region, while providing a slightly better mid bass lift and some sub bass rumble, while retaining the transparency and neutral bright nature of the midrange of the JM21, then this will end up being my BOSS KING dap.

If so, thats not my cup of tea. I’m treble sensitive, and prefer something neutral to slight warm, with a calmer treble, hefty bass and lower mids that are star of the show…

Shanling M1 Pro. Exactly that, which is why I sent it packing. Also iBasso DX170, but that stays with me because it's got a massive soundstage that I'm addicted to.
