Hi all,
I'm a bit lost...
I'm looking for a new setup for my office, as a DAC/AMP to be used with TIDAL and QOBUZ
I just saw the Fiio M17. I understood that is going to be complicated to "transport" it, so it should be considered to stay on site.
I have 3 headphone ( Meze 99, Molded IEM Earsonics EM4 and a Senheiser HD599)
I'm still reflecting if it's better to take the M17 or the K9 Pro Ess wich is, on the paper in average, the same.
Sorry if it's a duplicate, but I didn't manage well the search option of the forum :frowning2:
Thank you

If you don't need it to leave your desk, then a K9 Pro makes more sense than an M17, IMO. Or, if you want it to have its own screen, etc... wait for the R7 that is supposed to come out later this year (I think).

that's what I think for the K9, 'cause I use my computer for the streaming. Thanks for your quick reply
You're talking about the Q7 when you advise me to wait the R7, or it's going to be something completly different ?

No, the R-series is a new product line for FiiO, the first model of which will be the R7. It’s not portable at all - it’s a desktop unit, but it has a large screen and Android interface built into it, too. Think of a box on your desk that has a DAP taped to the front of it, with some additional knobs alongside the screen.

Yes, but there’s quite a bit of lagging and lip syncing is off . There’s no lagging problems when connecting to an Apple TV box via airplay.
This is the most exciting thing I've ever heard. I'm trading my A&K SP1000M just so I can watch Off The Air on my Apple TV and listen with my LCD-5.

How does the M17 stack up against N8ii?

This has now been corrected, there’s now no lagging when watching YouTube.

Received FiiO M17 and FiiO PL50 today. What is the correct connection sequence?
Initial state - everything is off.
Option number 1): 1. move the lever on the player to DC; 2. turn on the power supply, 3. turn on the player.
Option number 2): 1. turn on the power supply; 2. we translate the lever on the player to DC; 3. turn on the player.
Option number 3): 1. turn on the power supply; 2. turn on the player; 3. we translate the lever on the player to DC.
Or does it not matter?

I would go for number 3 :D
