I can believe that. You reminded me of how much I loved the i4 when I auditioned the i4 and iSine20; ultimately buying the latter. I bought the Euclid too. But kinda wish i went for the i4. The i4 reminded me a lot of my he-1000, which gets most of my head time. I may have to splurge for the i4 given the M17 has all the drive it could ever need. The m17 with the audeze lcd i4 is some combo. The i4 love the power the m17 has
What is 100%? It is as good as a portable gets and yes, I don't feel it is lacking anything. But it is possible that another person runs a nuclear reactor powered amplifier that does some audiophile magic throwing dusts of psycho-acoustic spells, and he might not be happy with what he has with M17. So it depends on your expectations. Will the player handle Dan Clark Audio Stealth 100%?
Why not just add an EQ like this or this?Hi all, I have HD800S on a way, which I will pair with M17 / PL50 combo. What I am looking for is advice for tube amp, so this chain achieves warm, yet still detailed but lush HD800S sound. I have heard those headphones are king and queen paired with a right amp. I am thinking of Xduoo TA 20 or Little dot VI+. Would that be ok or should I look for BottleHead Crack Speed Ball or similar. Thanks in advance!
I do have Wavelet on M17 but not using it, not an eq guy tbh. More of achieving sound I like with proper cable/dac/amp/psu combination if that makes sense.
I would suggest you to go for an OTL especially with source like M17 which will really bring the best out of HD800s. If you have a warmer source like an R2R DAC TA-20 would do just fine but with M17 an OTL is the best option for HD800s IMO.Hi all, I have HD800S on a way, which I will pair with M17 / PL50 combo. I am an EQ guy but no EQ can change the sound the way an OTL or warmer source can with HD800s IMO.
I was thinking a same. Which OTL would be a good choice? I am based in Ireland.I would suggest you to go for an OTL especially with source like M17 which will really bring the best out of HD800s. Bottlehead or TA-26 would do just fine. I would start with TA-26 and if you are happy with what it brings to the sound of HD800s, you can invest in more expensive stuff like Cayin or Woo Audio.I was thinking a same. Which OTL would be a good choice? I am based in Ireland.
No idea, only heard Little dot mkii. It seems very powerful 5W @120, please try Little dot thread.I appreciate the answer. Bottlecrack definitely got my attention, personally not a DYI person but know some people who could help. What about Little Dot VI, any good?
