I just tested with Neutron Player, in DAP mode with an external DAC at 16x oversampling can provide 768mhz to the external DAC (it's limited to 384 mhz if I disconnect the external DAC)

As we are speaking audio formats, someone would be kind enough to explain the interest of the option to convert all files to DSD? In what cases can this be an advantage? Thanks!
So in the end, it can't have mqa in DAC mode because it uses the xmos xu 208 instead of the 216. Just like I said. There are too many professors in here

Yes, and that is very strange that in such "not cheap" player they not implemented xmos216 for full MQA decoding. Even ifi zen dac v2 has xmos216 which is 10 times cheapier.
Yes, you are right, XMOS 216 has more resource to handle more features . M17 is used XMOS 208 which has limited resource so we can't make it support MQA .
Thanks for heads up! One question: M15 has the same XUF208 microcontroller and received MQA support with one of firmware updates: https://www.fiio.com/newsinfo/430684.html
What are limitations in M17 comparing to M15?

I don't think any of the FiiO devies, including Q5s and M15, with 208 support MQA over USB. The ones that play MQA all depend on the main controller (and only Android / DAP mode) which is not available in USB DAC mode.
So far, I'm just listening to IEM headphones. The sound delivery is a little different from that of the DX300. The brain has not yet adapted.
From an unpleasant note, I noticed that the player heats up quite a lot when playing music. And the battery is melting right before our eyes!
Is it like that for everyone?
I decided to take apart the fan on the stand for the M17 to see how easy it would be to replace the included fan for a 3rd party fan that is quieter and produces more airflow.
It would appear that the included fan is a 5 volt 10.8mm width 80mm fan

Are you happy with sound upgrade of m17 compared to dx300? I'm very interested in this comparison, how much these differ in Sound Quality and Sound Signature
