Ive had the m15s for over two weeks and listened to it every day, maily paired with the u12t and sometimes with the Monarch Mk2 and Xelento OG.
I must say its a great sounding dap. Its very neutral but engaging due to its dynamics (mainly in bass department). It didnt push any coloration on the sound but still managed to sound very engaging.
Then i saw a great deal for a used ak sp1000 on an ebay. I knew the sound of the sp1000 as ive had it some time ago. I was tempted to get it but i knew that the u12t arent as sensitive to sources as many other iems so i hesitated for a couple days.
Finally pulled the triger and when it came, i compared the sp1000 to the m15s.
Well as much as i loved the m15s, the sp1000ss is still significantly above when it comes to the sound quality. More natural, organic, microdetailed, spacious and definitely more layered. The M15s sounded slightly grayish in comparison and its trebles revieled some digital glare. So i sent the M15s back to a shop but i still warmly recommend it. Its definitely in a ballpark with the Kann Max and IBasso dx320 paired with the stock amp.
Im starting to like Fiio's sound tuning. Its very uncolored but still capable of giving a lot of fun and engagement.
Will be watching Fiios new releases carefuly.

I wouldnt say its my favorite, it just pushes the u12t very high with the overall quality, especially layering and soundstaging.
Ive tried the M17 and for sure its a great sounding dap but i just dont need so much power for my iems and it isnt portable.
For a pure sq with iems, i dont think it blows any other TOTL dap out of the water. But with a more demanding headphones its a definite top tier performing device, with a great control, bass and staging. I would rather pick the IBasso dx300/320 MAX instead tho.

for iems im think go for m15s now, my ak25ii too small screen and my eyes is agging dont see small letters. or better get dx240, m6 ultra ,hiby r6 iii, rs2, m15 plus from list? i like neutral sound,

A used sp1000 is still better than most daps on the market. Its even slightly better than the Kan Max, dx320, M8 and M9. Its just a perfectly neutral dap, with great technicalities.

but it is old model i think. M17 easy outperforms it i think in any way. starting from screen quality to UI and sound. power etc. only mwtal body is good for astel kern. think AK too overpriced . fiio is correct prices sound quality

Its sound is still top notch and the system and streaming all work flawlessly. The M17 isnt a dap, its a transportable device. For me there is no point in buying the M17, i would rather get some desktop dac/amp instead. For this price you get a better performing stationary rig.

SP1000 is oldtimer ,with poor screen,with old UI,old CPU.old wifi,old bluetooth modules, vs speedy fiio M15s. for 1000eur il go for new with warranty more power M15S vs few years old dap..

Sorry it's not about the delay when using USB DAC, but severe video delay when playing any video on M15s screen after something triggered it; for example after using USB DAC feature.

When it happens, the video can be 3 seconds later than the audio which is unacceptable. It's more likely to be called broken rather than delay.

Does the issue happen in certain video? I tried the YouTube APP but failed to reproduce the issue? Or other any certain setting? If you are convenient, please provide us(support@fiio.com) the log file for check as well:
Extract a LOG file
For special software issues, please extract a LOG file under the root directory, unzip and copy it to the homepage. And then send it to us for analysis.
Please go to " Settings ->About device" , and continually tap “Model number", until the prompt "Have save output log to built-in storage" appears.
Then please wait for about 20 seconds, and go to player's internal storage, then send the folder "fiio_log " to us and inform us the time of the problem for further analysis.
