I don't think it breaks Tidal. It is that Tidal will operate as it has been only doing the first unfold of an MQA file and no more than that while other 3rd party apps are now capable of a full 8x unfold.
I will install the beta a little later when I get to work.
Well, Tidal the App is still working as it was for my use, I've still got full USB DAC operation where I can see the Volume number without going into Gear=>Audio :)

I never had any problems with any beta FW on M15, so I installed this one, too. So far looks stable. I didn't notice the DSD to / from FLAC switch clicks. The issue with USB DAC mode under Linux is still there.

I'm enjoying streaming Tidal through UAPP now, thanks :)

Wait! No!, I've not been bit perfect MQA anointed... I'm being shaken down by UAPP / MQA:

Note the "MQA playback requires Bit-perfect enabled - In-app purchase... ok, pay I will...

Paid in full, Bit-perfect enabled - a brief run through options... any suggestions?

Success(?) :)

Woah! You installed even Gmail on your M15. :)
Well, heck yeah, I've not completely set up the M15 as I originally intended as I've been using it as my "desktop" USB DAC - so Android is silenced during that mode.

I'm using gmail to exchange screenshots to use on my PC to make these posts. I also used Chrome to download this firmware update from FiiO to the external microSDXC card in the M15. I'm also reading news while listening to music, and watching youtube video's in between music sessions.

After I set up the A90 / D90 replacing the M15 as desktop DAC/AMP, I'll return to completing the M15 set up for full Android use while building up the on-device music library. :)

Go to settings in the fiio.
Display.
Show sample rate.

Then open uapp again and play another mqa. At the top of your screen it should say 384k

I installed the beta and in UAPP I can stream Tidal masters with full unfold. In the native Tidal app it is still only the first unfold. Will wait to see how long it takes for Tidal to update their app to support it now.

You have all to dsd on I assume?
I would've gotten there, eventually

I had just rebooted after exiting UAPP and trying Tidal app - it should have been a good hint when that 2.8M continued to be displayed in between having both app's exited...

Ok, with "All to DSD" disabled, I've got 88.2 showing in the Tidal App...and 384k showing in UAPP as expected :)

Maybe I'll turn "All to DSD" back on...?
