Hi..many tks

with volume normalisation off,now shows correctly the archive bitrate.but don t unfold 8x like UAPP

TIDAL APP

But it,s perfect for me.

most mqa dacs shows the bitrate of the mqa file this way.

instead UAPP, what it does is always raise the bitrate to the maximum of 8x which is 384 khz

example..44.1 x8..352.8. 48x8 ... 384......

UAPP..shows 384khz. 8x in direct..

many tks for the tip..

best regards

Hi all
The magician and sorcerer oposums from 4pda.ru created the following jewels that you should know about:
(Also suitable for M11, M11 Pro)

1. Root patch
Root_FiiO_M11_M11Pro_M15-final-20201003.zip
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Sr6zrvPTLP_Xu9Zc34dVY0-TDfr8GiW_/view?usp=sharing
(~ 150 MB, as a lot of additional software is included)

Installation from Recovery (at boot [Power] + [Next Track]). The patch has a menu with a choice of actions (Aroma Installer). Description in Russian, but understandable. I recommend checking the first option (Magisk Manager) and the last one (Uninstall FiiO Music; if you want to uninstall the FiiO Music system app and install different versions as a custom app).

2. Custom Recovery TWRP 3.4.0
FiiO_M11_TWRP_3.4.0-0.zip
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wdfLI5cNkzcGKVtifCnUWjlS1UFPjze5/view?usp=sharing
(Installation from Recovery)
Update 2020.11.05: After installing TWRP, you need to additionally install twrp_m15.img from it for the correct DAP name and to eliminate problems with updating the firmware.
twrp_m15.img: https://drive.google.com/file/d/12FTNhUAHPdyIC3tAoubXG9qJWL12G5Mo/view?usp=sharing

3. My settings for the best sound
(All changes are reversed. You can always install any firmware version or do a factory reset.)
3.1. - Root
3.2. - Install the Ainur Narsil module using Magisk Manager
3.3. - Install FiiO Music beta_20200623 (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eyd5zP2pFXfBuKMag1Togo2RohAPHZmq/view?usp=sharing)
(latest version FM 3.0.2 - http://fiio-file.fiio.net/FiiO Music Android3.0.2.apk but I don't like the sound)
3.4. - in the file system root\system\lib\soundfx\ disable the library libeffectproxy.so (stop the music and just rename it)

Everything is tested and works on M15 (and M11P). But if most of the words are unfamiliar to you, then you better do nothing.
I do not plan to participate in discussions.

I recently got my i4 and M15 and found the volume lacking on 3.5. Using just low gain and KMann's PEQ Toneboosters settings and UAPP, I found volume 110-115 where it was decent. But, with regards to those using Hugo 2 as far as power output for apples to apples comparison, what is the optimal setting?
As many have said i4's scale with more power, I was wondering if I should be setting everything to the max and using High Output Mode or high gain or both. Or, is that too much and risk damaging the i4's?

If your having to go that high on the volume then you should try the high gain, if that still doesn’t give you enough try over ear mode, or Bose versa.

You don’t any risk of damaging your i4s as long you you start at low volume and gradually increase it. You will more likely damage your hearing before you damage the i4s

But if that is still to quite for you you would probably want to get a balanced cable since the M15 has quite a bit more power in balanced configuration

Edit* as far as I am aware Hugo2 doesn’t have any gain settings

I see.

If so, would a comparable output to Hugo 2 be via balanced and low or high gain with high output or none at all? Pretty new to this voltage amp output thing.

Good day to all you guys! :)
I'm trying to find out what am I doing wrong...
I have the latest 1.0.3 firmware on my M15, Tidal 2.32.1 (HiFi account, "Loudness norm" is OFF), latest UAPP and FIIO Music.

And NO MQA LOGO or 192K (352) at the top of the screen :frowning2:((
For example, Hymn to Love (master) by Nidarosdomens jentekor plays through Tidal app as 88,2, but not 352.8 as pictured above.
How do you think, whats the problem?

Thank you!
