Unfortunately this is comparing apples with pears. The FiiO M15 has dual Dual AK4499EQ DACs, each with 4 channels. As long as you present it with low quality Spotify streams, the DACs do not really have to stretch their muscles. Once you present them with high-resolution files, the power consumption of those DACs generously exceeds that of the One Plus 7 Pro DAC. Same goes for the AMP .. The M15 typically is used with headphones that are impossible to drive by a regular phone, simply because they have a higher impedance etc. And the power consumption only goes up if you select a higher gain setting, or use the All to DSD setting .. But you get much much higher quality audio in return .. It's not without reason that for many headphones, the manufacturers recommend that they are driven by a desktop headphone amplifier .. The M15 comes pretty damn close to being able to deliver that same current to a pair of headphones .. And make them sound light-years better than a cellphone. Even though in my case my headphones are relatively easy to drive, the same applies.. My Denon D9200 and B&W P9, both easy to drive, sound way better on my M15 than on any standard phone output ..

As an example that makes much more sense, I compared my old Note 10+ to my FiiO M15, both with the standard FiiO Music app over bluetooth to my Shure Aonic 50, forcing both to use the APTX codec .. That is where you really see a different outcome once you level the playing field. In that test, both devices have exactly the same workload because they largely bypass the internal amp ... And that's where the M15 keeps going for ages, well after the Note 10+ has given up ...

And just to add to this.. When using the M15 in single-ended mode, you only use one amp while the other sits idle.. When using the M15 balanced, it switches to dual-amp use.. Increasing the power usage... Not an architecture that your average smartphone has on board. I am therefore quite happy that the M15 has such a generously dimensioned battery under the hood. It needs that...

Thumps up. BTW I was listen today to AH-D9200 it is the perfect match bought it right away. More treble and mids less bass than the 7200 its really an upgrade worth the money.

Then you have exactly the same combination as I have .. M15 + D9200 .. I found the balanced Forza Noir HPC mk2 to be a perfectly matching cable, which I ordered directly from Forza Audioworks .. Match made in heaven ...

Anybody experiencing frequent crashes with Fiio music app 3.01

Dear user,


Could you please send the log files to us for check:

When the certain problem happens on the player, please go to " Settings ->About device" , and continually tap“Model number", until the prompt "Have save output log to built-in storage" appears. Then please wait for about 20 seconds, and go to player's internal storage, then send the log folder ' fiio_log ' to us for further analysis.


And remember to inform us the time the issue happened. Are there any certain operation lead to the crash? Thanks in advanced!

While listening to a song and randomly scrolling through other songs. You can tap the 3 dots on the
far right (of each song) and choose from the pop up screen as shown...
Play Next, Replace Up Next, Add to Up Next, Add to the playlist, Delete, Cancel...

The battery will decrease in 6-7 hours even you turn the M15 off? Did you try to fully charged the M15 again and check whether the issue remains?

Did you update the player recently or install any new apps? You might have a app constantly running in the background

I made updates when new software came out, only UAPP and Tidal are installed from additional applications, besides, the system is clean, does not install unnecessary programs.

That's right, the battery level drops when the player is turned off, I have fully charged it a few times now and the situation repeats more and more often. Once I had a similar problem with the X5 3rd, I gave the equipment back for warranty and it was replaced with a new one

How to update the FiiO Music app in players:
Set the device to storage mode and connect to computer, drag the downloaded FiiO Music (.apk) to the device. Then disconnect the connection and enter ES file explorer/file manager, find the FiiO Music app in internal storage/sd card and click install.

I reported a ways back in the thread that the original V3 app was crashing on my M15 and that I had to revert to the older version of the FiiO Music app. I installed V3.0.2 and it is stable and working well, with no crashes. Thanks for updating the app!
