Dear friend,

The M11 Plus LTD will get a bit hot because of following factors:
1. Initially, check the "ALL to DSD" function is enabled or not. Because this function requires large amounts of computing resources. The CPU needs to be fully operational. Its power consumption will reach to the highest level and cause a large amount of heat. If in this case, switch off the "ALL to DSD" function.
2. Furthermore, the internal intelligent charging management circuit will also consume a lot of power in the process of charging electronic products. If the player is playing music at the same time. The heat will be more than normal. Usually, it is not recommended to use it while charging.
3. Additionally, the use of leather case and protective case will affect the heat dissipation of the M11 Plus LTD. And the temperature will be slightly higher.
4. Finally, the M11 Plus LTD uses two AK4497 chips that consume a lot of power to achieve high sound quality. It generates more heat than other chips when it works. Therefore, the M11 Plus LTD will also emit heat when it is working normally.
If you get that attention, you could wait some time until the temperature decreases. And if the attention appears too frequent, please contact support@fiio. com about that.

Best regards

Thanks for the tips.

I think the heat warning was because it was on a fast charger whilst playing music and inside the leather case. On normal charger it's much slower but doesn't have overheating issue. I also find the leather case hides a lot of the actual heat, the device might be very hot but the leather might feel luke warm.. so I've taken it out of the case for now and will look for a TPU style case with a cutout in the middle of the back similar to the M11 Pro one.

It's been going through almost 2 days of burn in now - it's loosened up a touch but i still find it bit too forward (testing on HD650), but thankfully "all to DSD" adds sweetness throughout and ever so slightly blunts some of those hard hitting transient upper mids and gives a little bloom in the bass - this is every so slight but enough to help. The effect is not incredibly noticeable on first listen but over a long listening session your ears might appreciate the touch of added sweetness.

I do find it a little 2D sounding though (being v critical here nitpicking, comparing it to Chord Qutest!) - it's incredibly wide, clean and extended, but seems to lack some depth - it's almost as if everything is drawn out on massive poster in front of me, more like being in a studio than a concert hall. I attribute this to the THX tech which has a habit of doing this.. I will do some testing of it as line out on my desktop amps, not sure if that completely bypasses the THX circuits though

Finally received my M11 Plus, thing of beauty, can't wait to use it, now for a stupid question. I found the flap over the ports... what's the secret to sliding the unit out of the tightly fitting case without scratching anything?

That’s weird, mine slid out easily when I just tipped it forward. Must be some variation in the cases.

You just need to lift the flap from the back of the fiio (pull away from the ports with you fingers), and then let fiio slide carefully.

Hi, this shows the parameters of the DAC, for M11Plus, since the SOC can only support up to 384kHz at present, it can only support DSD256 playback at present, but we are currently studying how to make the main control support 768kHz, and then it can support DSD512 playback.
Hi WianFiio:

Has any progress been made with the main control supporting 768kHz and thus supporting DSD512?
Thank you!

Not sure if I saw this update being posted, but the Apple Music v3.6beta with the lossless functionality is available on https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/apple-inc/apple-music/apple-music-3-6-0-beta-release/. but choose the most recent 2 of the 4files. It installs ok on the M15. However, you cannot log in. Still. That much has not changed for the M15. I suspect the M11Plus LTD will do better.
It's the issue of the cpu.
M15 uses Exoynos chips - common unsolved issue of failed Apple Music login. That's why on Fiio website they clearly stated that M11 pro/M15 does not support Apple Music.
However M11 Plus uses Snapdragon 660 - works well with Apple Music.
