Yes :) But "FiiO M11 Plus" have DSD256 support and "FiiO M11 Plus II" seems to support DSD512

Torben

FiiO's marketing is confusing. On the official M11 Plus ESS page it says the ESS9068AS supports DSD512 and 768 kHz (note the asterisk). But the actual specs for the DAP are DSD256 and 384 kHz. I think we are all pretty sure that the M11 Plus II you see on the one French site is actually the M11 Plus ESS.

Anybody using it with Roon? It is now Roon Ready - if it works well with Roon, I would buy the M11 Plus

Yes, I use the Roon Ready feature with my M11 Plus ESS. It works fantastic!

Edit: Roon ARC still needs some work, as it is not bit-perfect currently. But it works outside of the Roon Ready endpoint.

It’s all I use it for. Perfect RoonReady device, as others say ARC is still limited to standard Roon android app limitations but that’s being worked on.

FIIO M11 Plus LTD is/will be able to play TIDAL Dolby Atmos and Sony 360 Reality tracks in the future?
Is this a hardware limitation of FIIO M11... - or a license one like in Roon?

On the M11 Plus, you can play Sony 360 Reality tracks but not Atmos (from Tidal). Atmos requires a certified/licensed device like Apple iPhone/iPad or a few high-end Android phones. I am not aware of any DAP that natively supports Atmos. This also true for Apple Music.

Oddly, Amazon Music does play Dolby Atmos on the M11 Plus. I can only assume that Amazon has licensed for the app, rather than the hardware.

I don’t have any experience with Android, but it seems to me that the SW version on M11 Plus is from 2019 (version 10).

So it will probably soon reach end of life (support). Is It this going to be a problem?

THX

Has anyone here had issues with the playback on the M11 plus stuttering/slowing? Often when I switch to a different music app I find that playback slows down (to approx half speed) and the audio cuts in and out rapidly. When this happens it usually affects all apps and the only solution seems to be to close all open apps and then start again. The apps in question are PowerAmp, PowerAmp EQ, Spotify, Qobuz. Haven't encountered this issue on any other Android device. It's really impacting usability, which is unfortunate because I love everything else about it.

I don't think this is unique to the M11 Plus. Basically when you have multiple apps trying to control audio, especially with SRC bypass, things can become conflicting. I have seen this on other DAPs as well. Bottom line is it's best to use one app at a time and close others.

Good to know! I don't have this issue on the M11S (bought both to audition, planning on returning one) so I assumed it was something specific to the M11 Plus. Sounds like it might be fair to say it's a general issue that is highly device specific?

That's a very good question.
FIIO M11 .... the series will grow old with Android 10 and die with 10 from 2019?
Will it be possible to update to a newer version of Android ?

They could upgrade it to Android 11 or 12 as other DAP's with the Snapdragon 660 have come out with higher android versions. The question is will Fiio do it, and what benefits will it bring.

New players will eventually start coming with Android 12 or 13, as we see new chipset being used, reckon most DAP's will move to the Snapdragon 730 or 835 in the next 12 to 18 months

Exactly, some of the apps even detect the install of potentially conflicting apps (Flat, Power Amp, Wavelet) and instruct you to uninstall them to avoid playback issues.
