[FiiO LC-RE/LC-RE Pro/LC-RE Pro 2022] MMCX cable Gold-Silver-Copper swappable plug Earphone Cable

Anyone has tested the new FiiO LC-RE Pro or the LC-RE with the FH7? I have both the pure silver LC 2.5D and the new LC-RC. The 2.5D is exquisitely detailed but too much bright in particular songs (female voices). However, the LC-RC (2.5mm plug) has still that 'metallic' feeling in voices although a bit more bass than the 2.5D but detail retrieval and soundstage seem worse as compared to the 2.5D.

That's very strange.. a lot of people do have in ear monitors with 2 pins connectors...
Part of the problem is that there are a few different standards for 2-pin connectors, with different polarities on one side, and also different pin widths. Then there are slightly different types of connectors, some where the body inserts partially into the IEM for a better lock.

Only the original LC-RE. It's more mellow than the silver cable. I thought it had a good balance of sound, overall.

Thanks for your answer about the LC-RC with the FH7. What do mean with 'mellow'? Less extended treble or 'warmer' sound? This sounds like a regular pure silver cable, with dark or warm sound representation. I like the FH7 treble extension and detail especially with the silver LC-2.5D, but voices seem to be lean or with a high-pitched tone (especially sibilant 'S' sounds). Do you think that is it worth to invest 170€ for a LC-RE cable to significantly improve the FH7 sound as compared to FiiO's LC-D pure silver cable?

I'm still getting maximum value out of the swappable plug design. There are occasions I would prefer the new straight design like when using with the BTR5 but I would still opt for L shape as I feel there is less strain and chance of damaging the jack if knocked.

So what's the difference between the RE and the new RE pro?
Sonically, to my ears, no difference. Physically it is slightly different. The MMCX plugs are now silver and slightly angled. Also the connector is now straight and not angled. The connector is very similar to the connector of the stock cable of the FD5. Look and feel otherwise is very similar.

We will report your feedback to the product manager. And you could check whether the LC-RE pro 0.78 version meet your need?

Best regards

@FiiO
Hi,
Is there going to be a UK distributor for the FiiO LC-RE Pro cable.
Just I cant seem to find it anywhere, the AliExpress link says:
"This product can't be shipped to your address. Select another product or address."
And another seller is quoting 75 days shipping time

Looking for a local supplier so I do not have to pay vat and duty on top of the price, as I will if I get it from Europe.

Thank you :beerchug:

Dear friend,

Sorry that the seller in UK hasn't booked the LC-RE Pro from us. I checked again and found that we could send to UK via Aliexpress stand shipping :https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000971898372.html
Genreally, the shipping time takes less than 2months.

Best regards

Same here, ejoyed the original LC-RE with my FH7 but now I got another IEM with 2pin connection and would like to get 2pin LC-RE version, only the original LC-RE available but as I understand it is no longer produced so the price is much highier. I believe that there would be a demand for this and pure silver cables since they are great looking cables with a friendly pricing. I even thought how can I convert my LC-RE MMC version to 2 pin but I am afraid that I will butcher it . If you are going to do it then transparent connections do look better and blend in better with various IEM designs since it is neutral looking. When I got my original LC-RE for Fiio FH7 it looked a little odd to me since those connections were dark and they sort of became an extension of IEM design - dark IEM, dark connections, connections actually did have a blue tint as well so it wasn't totally perfect match - black-gold shell, dark blue connections. The original cable which came with FH7 looked better because it was neutral (transparent) and didn't attract attention so you could enjoy the shell of IEM with no distraction but of course I got used to it.
