I see. Too bad then. I always have issues with the volume adjustment with either mode A or B. In mode A, especially on 120-step volume setting, I have to press a lot of times to change volume, especially when changing IEMs or headphones. In mode B, I will have difficulty fine-tuning the volume settings because I have to long-press to adjust volume.

Also, to respond to your assumption that "the frequency of continuous volume adjustment is not much", I would say that if the user is only using one IEM/headphone at all time then this will be true. However, if the user has a number of IEMs/headphones and frequently change them around, drastically changing volume would be a very frequent operation. Also, some albums might be louder than others, so sometimes we need to change the volume quite a lot.

A few friends who have tried my KA5 complained about the same thing. Also, a lot of them are confused why the screen is always off when the volume is changed or the track changed (they often want to confirm the volume and sampling rate when the track changes).

I wish KA5 would behave much like my other dongles with screen (L&P W2 and Cayin RU6). Well, still a very good sound quality though!
Thank you very much for your advice. Should you be able to adjust the volume quickly in 60-step volume setting?
Because a lot of people don't like to light up the screen when you press a button.
For example, phones don't usually light up when volume is adjusted.

Interesting how different people's experience is different. I have several dongle DAC/AMPs with volume control on the device, and I really didn't perceive any difference in how they worked regarding the KA5. Volume control on the KA5 seemed natural and consistent with other products, and I appreciated the 60/120 volume levels setup option in the KA5 which most other products I tried don't have. Nevertheless, every device has its own touch behavior, and perhaps over time, you'll become more comfortable with that of the KA5 as it is such an incredible value and sounds so good that it would be unfortunate not to get comfortable with it.

I like the granularity of the 120-step volume, so I usually stick with that.

About the screen lighting up behaviour, I think comparison with phones is not exactly fair either. Most of the time, we would know that our phone is always on. However, for dongles, we might not always know whether it is on, especially when there's no music playing yet, or the music being paused, or when we're switching gears. During an audio meetup, a few times when my friends thought the dongle was not turned on. Also, while testing gears, we do have a habit of lowering the volume a lot before playing anything to prevent accidental blasting of our eardrums.

Anyway, like I said, it might be just a personal preferences of myself and my circle of friends due to the behaviour of our currently-owned dongles. I just wish that the behaviour could be adjusted to fit our use case, but it is indeed a minor learning requirement.

Well. Thank you very much for your suggestion, we will consider adding the function of operating the bright screen in the next generation of products.

Im getting clicks when listening after ~5 minutes. When I listen to not loud and classic music (Piano or cello) sometimes I hear clicks from the left. It's random audible clicks usually 5~10 times per song. I have already changed the cable, tried different settings, and still, there are clicks. Kinda annoying. Does anyone have a similar problem?

I have experienced the same, also in the left channel, though only once so far.

One other issue: after connecting to my iPad Pro, display seems to freeze occasionally. It keeps saying “Bron for music” (indeed, spelling error), without displaying the sample rate. It playes music perfectly fine, though.

Samsung s21, Yt music and tidal, also tried to play local files and the same random clicks. The thing is clicks appeared only since yesterday, before they were not

Has the system been updated recently or has there been any other Settings? Try allowing the background power Settings of the music app.

No updates, did not change any settings. I also checked on the Samsung s22 and Samsung S21 Plus, iPhone 14pro the same result. I think it's the device's defect.
I recorded these clicks through the line-in
